Trench Warfare - What Are We NOT Doing?

it simply a matter of a more lax offseason and strength and conditioning program?

I don't think it's anything unusual. We simply lack high end talent on the online because we have neglected the position during the draft for years.

Young blue chip oline are rarely available in FA, and if they are available, there is a reason.

There are probably other confounding factors, but this is the obvious biggy IMO

I wonder why he didn't sign him and put him at RT to replace Wylie
Wylie has been solid to good this season. He’s been banged up the last couple of weeks and playing though it - so has Coleman. We seem to be getting healthy along the O’Line again which is good. I expect a better performance tomorrow.

Coming into the season I thought the O’Line would be a weakness. A combination of much better QB play, play calling which protects the OTs in particular by getting the ball out quick and better play than anticipated (especially in pass blocking) has actually seen us have one of the better graded O’Line in the league.

I still think OT is a position we will look hard at early in the draft next year though. CB, WR, OT, Edge - those are the primary needs and all blue chip positions. I’d add a TE with wheels who can stretch the field vertically and probably a DT if we release Allen which seems likely.
