There are 2 major questions with Seahawks' 1st-round pick Jadarian Price originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.

Everyone knew the first running back taken in the 2026 NFL Draft would be from Notre Dame, and Jeremiyah Love indeed went to the Arizona Cardinals with the No. 3 overall pick on Thursday night.

But the second back being from Notre Dame, too? That was a possibility, but not for certain.

The Seattle Seahawks made it happen with the final pick of the first round. They chose Jadarian Price, who was Love's backup with the Fighting Irish, at No. 32 overall.

Price will be crucial to the defending Super Bowl champ's plans for the season ahead. He'll also have some questions to answer.

The first is simply whether Price can adjust to a bigger role even as he moves up the ladder to the NFL ranks.

"Price was a backup in college -- albeit behind the No. 3 pick in this year's draft -- and will now be asked to fill a pseudo starting role, with Walker gone and Zach Charbonnet probably out for much of the season after knee surgery," ESPN's Brady Henderson wrote on Thursday night. "Seattle also signed Emanuel Wilson to be a power runner and has George Holani in the mix."

Then there's a matter of whether Price has the skillset to be on the field that often in the first place.

"Another question about Price pertains to his ability to contribute in the passing game," Henderson writes. "He caught only 15 passes over three seasons, though that was in part a function of Love's versatility."

Love was simply a star in the receiving game, so that might explain most of that.

Still, it's an area in which Price isn't proven. He'll have a lot of doubters to overcome to make it work in Seattle.
