The World's Football - otherwise known as soccer

New member here, and massive footy fan. I guess you can tell who I follow by my avatar. Always up for some footy banter, and obviously feeling good by my side’s start, and the fact that I mentioned Arne Slot as the guy to get if Xabi Alonso wouldn’t come, back I January to my mates on a LFC message board. Got a few laughs at the time, but my footy cred has since skyrocketed with the boys on the board.

BTW, since you didn’t ask, come by my love of the beautiful game through my family. Mom’s side is all Dutch. My love for the Oranje runs very deep.

As mentioned, I am a Charlotte FC fanatic. One of our owners, Neophyte is a huge Premier League fan...

Hoping this embeds, as I am a newbie here doing this for the first time. This is David Coote, a PL referee, who just officiated Saturday’s Liverpool match. He has also been involved in a couple highly questionable decisions as VAR official (video referee) that went against Liverpool.

This just surfaced today. He has been suspended, but if he is not sacked for this, it will put a dark cloud over PGMOL (English match officials organization).

You got it!

Almost any media on major sites will embed, you just have to copy and paste the url. The exception are NFL clips because the NFL blocks embedding but you can still access NFL clips via links posted, it will just take you off site to view them.

USMNT Concacaf vs. Jamaica on now... shaping up to be a great one. USA scores first, and USA then stops a penalty kick.

That’s a replay from last night. Had both games on. Gets a lil chippy second half. Return leg is Monday in St. Louis.

In that case I predict we win this one 1-0

Washington Spirit with the equalizer in the third minute of stoppage time in the first NWSL semifinal!

Less than two minutes later, they miss the winner by less than a foot, as the girl heads just over the bar from a corner. Going into OT.

Spirit ended up winning on penalties after a scoreless overtime. Keeper saved all three penalties by Gotham FC! Playing for the championship next Saturday, against tomorrow’s winner. Go DC!

USMNT laying some smack down on Jamaica in the second leg of their Nations Cup tie. Poch got them playing some nice footy. Pulisic on a hat trick after netting first two, and Pepi bangs in a 3rd in the first half. Pouring down rain in St Louis now, so I’ll probably go watch the Caps, with the US ahead 4-0 on aggregate.

worse to watch than boring ass golf to me.
Thanks for chipping in!

Should have watched my Reds on Wednesday dismantle the “best” club team in the world. Was a display of fantastic footy, and why it is called the beautiful game!

Real Madrid and Man City 4 days apart. A pair of dominant 2-0 performances by the mighty Liverpool Reds. Safe to say we ARE the best team in the world right now! New manager Arne Slot rewriting record books every match. 18 played, in all competitions, 16 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw. Long may it continue. Up the mighty Reds! YNWA!

Liverpool is the most in form team in the world at the moment of that there is no doubt.... But settle down, long road to hoe in the Champions, although the league is looking very lovely for you at the moment.
Enjoy it, I will be here to chat footy with you all year if you like. I'm a Real fan, you finally showed face on wednesday after 8 straight so kudos to you and your boys, its well deserved rn... Arne is pushing all the right buttons.

Big day in my other sports vice - North London Derby! My Spurs visit The Arse(nal).

Yeah...I'm a little nervous.

Yesterday, my football team took care of business in Detroit.

Today I need my football club to take of business at Everton.

Always down with the bitters getting a beating! Keep them in the relegation battle! I worry about the new manager bump though, but is Moyes a “new” manager if he managed for a decade prior?

Anyway, feeling great after Darwin came on and banged in a brace yesterday after Brentford had frustratingly set up a double decker in front of goal. Needed to get back to winning ways. Then, after the Arse choked away a two goal lead at home, I started to think, maybe this will be a magical day, and lo and behold…

Watching a replay of last night, and checked in to see what was happening in the PL. Werner and Brennan both out now also? The Spurs are a MASH unit this season!

Solanke too, I just realized. Ange may get sacked, but man, that kind of attrition is tough for ANYONE to overcome.
