I would take the contract one and if the other one came up quit and go to that one. Employers have no loyalty to employees anymore, they should expect the same in return.


The fact that 'they need to know right away' and that they cant guarantee anything beyond 6 months should eliminate any sense of guilt you might have.
I accepted the contract role and even negotiated a little higher pay. Its not the ideal but its with a great company in a new industry for me (major utilities company that you would recognize), it will be excellent for the resume and a good chance for contract extensions. I'm still going to do the final interview with the perm role that I mentioned just in case, but otherwise I will embrace this new challenge fully. Time to kick this life back into gear!




I never thought I'd say this but...yay! I get to go to work! First day at the contract gig. Still hoping for the other to come through, but this will sure do in the meantime!
