I completely agree.

I don't understand why they don't just bury all the parking lots. Like, instead of going up 10 floors, you go down 10 floors. I mean, just keep digging!!!!

OR, wait for it: temporary FLOATING PARKING LOTS in the river! And when one section gets full, you just float it to the middle of the river, and then float in another section. Sure, logistical problems getting your car back. But that's what AI is for, right? RIGHT?

I'm only partially joking. (ok, fully joking about the floating parking lot) I do understand that where they are building it's not entirely possible to bury all the parking lot. But they can bury a lot of stuff to hide it.

Parking lots are going to be a challenge with this location but it's something I think they're going to work out.

They are right next to the river. They will have water problems; it will be very difficult and expensive to go below ground level

Yes, I know.

Which I said I was mostly joking.

But I do think there is a way to bury some parts of the parking.

Perhaps they could make the facades of the garages resemble the stadium. My alma mater is mostly Gothic buildings and the new ones- including the parking garage- get a Gothic stone facade.

I thought I read they were burying the stadium so deep to keep it below height restriction. If so they could do the same for the parking

I actually had a thought we could bury the entire stadium and have park land above it, so you wouldn’t even know a stadium was there. And do something cool with a translucent roof.

But that’s probably impossible being so close to the river.

But it would be cool.

Put it under the River, Like a glass bottom boat only in reverse. And even cooler than a moat

Now you’re onto something…..

Maybe we could make it like a submarine and it could surface and then dive depending on whether it is needed!

Otherwise known as a very expensive death trap. Not very many places on earth where you’ll find 75,000 human beings crammed hundreds of feet underground in the middle of a city. Even setting aside the problem of the river.

Would probably double the existing cost of the stadium, as well.

Never mind the extensive HVAC/ventilation needs you’d have for safe breathing, and the redundancies you’d need to avoid mass death and incredible liability.

Ye of little faith.

It could double as a bomb shelter!

look, it was kidof a joke, kidof a “wouldn’t it be cool if but it can’t.”

Oh is the water going to be a problem? I think I have a solution...

We could always move the stadium to Saltville va and use an existing saltmine! Of course it would be for the entire family, adults and miner children,

Call it Atlantis and rename the team the Redfish.

Swim on, swim on, till you have won, Sons of Washington (Glugg, Glugg, Glugg!)

Have we considered a floating stadium where we could tailgate underneath it?
