Ehhhh….. Hogs can’t play without mud.

I get it man, but the only way these things get built now is if they can be multi use stadiums we can’t do it without a roof. Outdoor venues are going to become a thing of the past eventually.

Nobody will ever build an open stadium again in this country, I bet. The insane amount of money getting spent, it can’t just be good for 8 home football games a year in the weather. Needs to be the home for every huge event in the area, and most importantly, the Super Bowl. Or nobody will pay for it to be built

And retractable roofs come with insane expenses and mechanical issues over time, not a super attractive look or option for most owners.

Football in the open elements will just slowly die to logistics, sadly.

Good news! As time goes on there will be less and less elements to handle when they travel, as there are less and less outdoor stadiums. Maybe not during Jayden’s career, but give it 10-15 years.

Short term solution: host the NFCCG every year or don’t complain, I guess.

The Capital Center was great for concerts. Quite the challenge to match that in a 70k seat stadium.

Yeah, the audio in Jerry World is so bad I won't go to concerts there.

Saw my first rock concert at the Cap Center - Styx, 1983, Kilroy Was Here tour. Good times.

I love it!
The only downer, and it's a big one, is the lack of tailgating. Oh..and the PSL's.
I spoke to our ticket rep, at length about the PSL's. I was surprised that he actually called because I fired off an email bitching about the latest price increase on our tickets.
I told him that we would probably give them up because the cost of the PSL will be outrageous. He insisted that current ticket holders would get priority on seating selection, the seats would be similar to our current seats & significantly discounted prices on PSL's vs new ticket buyers & that we should see what it's all a out before bailing.
I'm skeptical, but we'll see...

I will say the acoustics of the Capital Center just worked, I saw many a show there back in the day. When it was built their recording system was state of the art, that is why you can find so many decent bootlegs on YouTube from the shows there.

By way of comparison when I saw Van Halen in 2007 at Capital One arena I remember the acoustics were so bad it took me 10 seconds to figure out which song I was hearing most of the show…and I’m a known expert on their catalogue.

There was a time when I was seriously considering getting season tickets but now I’m not so sure that I want to actually go to all the games or have to deal with selling them if I decide to or have to skip one. Ideally, I’d like to go to about half of the Home games. I do enjoy just sitting on my couch watching it at home sometimes.

I really don't get some of our supposed "long time fans" and their disdain for tradition because the Washington Commies don't have any tradition

I equally don’t get that some of our ‘supposed’ long time fans are cemented in a time that was 3-4 decades ago. I see no examples of a ‘distain for tradition’ here. Just the ability for many to accept that the world changes and moves on, no matter how much one wishes that it wouldn’t.

It is not disdain at all. It is the realization that our greatness from 30 years ago is NEVER coming back as much as we want it to.

Joe Gibbs was the greatest coach, and we were blessed to have had him, but those days are a distant memory that we cherish in our memories.

If I had disdain for the hogs, would I still hold onto my pig nose that I occasionally wear in front of the grandkids. I then get to describe to them the great days of our past where the counter trey was what helped create the hogs.
