You are probably right. He left on a really high point though and not "so early." I think within his 7 seasons he had one where he was out for the season. It's sort of like the Sean Taylor caveat. If we are talking about, "from what we could see, was he talented?" Absolutely. If we are saying, did he get a true chance to prove it over the long haul, then I guess the answer has to be no. The talent WAS obvious though, you're right, against whatever the NFL threw at them (for Taylor and Luck).

Elway and Marino are both in the top 5-7 QBs of all time. I’d put Elway no lower than third behind Brady and Montana. You could argue higher. Hell, you could make an argument for #1. I think it would lose to Brady.

Marino was possibly the best, most accurate pure passer in NFL history. Brady won more.

Thst class also had Jim Kelley.

No matter how they try to portray it, when they fired Mayo, the Patriots knew they were getting Vrabel. I suppose Leftwich interviewed just for the sake of possibly gaining a spot on Vrabel's eventual staff, but no way I would've interviewed for that job. I applaud Aaron Glenn for turning down the interview.

McCarthy would be a good fit in Chicago, especially for developing Williams; plus he can put together a strong staff that would maximize the talent they have on that roster.

And the rumor is they're also talking to Rex Ryan about becoming the defensive coordinator.
He hasn't coached in nine years and hasn't had a winning season in 15.
Ironically that'd be a reversal of the jets staff when he was head coach and schottenheimer was coordinator.

That duo seems like a train wreck waiting to happen.
