Healthy scratches of Ron Rivera High Round picks has essentially meant, we are typing up your walking papers. Start packing your bags. Is this gonna end different?

When they find Carl Davis jr and Sheldon Day to replace you…. I say they are planning to cut you.

This is what happens when the owner is irretrievably stupid and keeps handing over full control of personnel to lure an over the hill coach out of retirement. The only competent personnel guy we had was Kyle Smith and Ronbo kicked him to the curb to replace him with his homeys from the bowels of a failed Detroit squad.

In fairness... No, that's fair.

He’s going to go up and down a few times, probably cut in the off season. Unless he somehow starts to practice really well and earned his way back.

This is going to be a very interesting off season. I wonder what this means for Jonathan Allen. I figured he was near gone with his salary and his age.

Interior Defensive Line

Interior pressure has never been more coveted by NFL teams — that’s why clubs have taken the most talented defensive tackles off the market via long-term extensions.

With all due respect to Osa Odighizuwa, the Dallas Cowboys DT isn’t a true impact player. But he’s only 26, has a third-round draft pedigree, and has played 74.3% of his club’s defensive snaps this season (the second-highest rate among free agent interior defenders after Adam Butler) — he’ll get a worthwhile deal on the open market.

Levi Onwuzurike is the most intriguing name on the DT list. The 41st overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Onwuzurike had been held back by injuries but has played well for the Detroit Lions this season, even dabbling at EDGE after his club lost Aidan Hutchinson and Marcus Davenport.

1) Osa Odighizuwa, Dallas Cowboys
2) Milton Williams, Philadelphia Eagles
3) Levi Onwuzurike, Detroit Lions
4) B.J. Hill, Cincinnati Bengals
5) D.J. Jones, Denver Broncos
6) Tershawn Wharton, Kansas City Chiefs

I don't think there's ever been as complete a 'purging' of a former regimes players than what we've seen post-Rivera.

With all the absolute roster needs we had, I hated it when I heard Mathis called at pick 47.
This dude just hasn't done squat and can't get on the field, Has the team got more from Forbes than Mathis? crazy

Obviously not a great look. I do think (or at least suspect) there’s an element of just massaging the roster - balancing who’s active/inactive and who they can call up from the PS (that they either trust or want to give an opportunity to).

Not the same, but in a similar vein, I wonder if they haven’t called Wiley up yet because they’d rather have him as insurance for the tail end of the season.

I doubt it. They were in the midst of a losing streak that almost took them out of the playoff hunt. You don't leave a bullet in the chamber in that situation.

Has Quinn addressed this anywhere?

I'm traveling for work this week so not catching all the usual press conferences and podcasts.

He basically said that Carl Davis earned the spot in the rotation over Big Phil through practice performance.
