The Name Change

Would take a lot for me to mess around with t-shirts again. We had to give them away last time and took a big loss.
 
Quick thought here. I think a way to drive off some of the name haters is to sign Michael Sam to either our practice squad or our 53 man roster. Or is this the Dan Snyder marketing way of thinking?

do selfies and post 'em on the interwebz and see how it goes.

Amen brotha...T Shirts and Redskins fans = throwing your money away as a sales investment.
 
Seriously. With Sam on this team the media heads would explode with confusion. They wouldn't know what to talk about. See that and raise by trading cousins for a sour pickle and signing tebow as a qb project and we will be the face of the nfl. King, florio, dungy, and sims would be wearing redskins throwback jerseys to church in no time.

Way played for Tulsa Union High School in Oklahoma whose nickname also happens to be the Redskins. They’ve received pressure to change their name but have resisted.

As for his high school, the National Congress of American Indians urged them last year to change their nickname, pointing out that 28 other high schools have done so. Tulsa Union declined.

According to the Oklahoman, Tulsa Union issued a statement in response, saying, “Union community members of all races tell us this is not an issue divided strictly on the lines of race. The debate appears to be between some people outside of this district who have a different opinion as to how people inside this school district should believe, feel, and identify themselves. It is those within the Union community that the district serves.

“Definitions need to be in context of time, place and usage. In this day and age, in the Union community, 'Redskins' is not derogatory; rather it defines a diverse, yet close-knit community that exhibits great pride and spirit in its schools and programs as well as in its determination and traditions of success

The newspaper that is no longer mentioned here has a new publisher and CEO. He is currently CEO of the Ronald Reagan Foundation and is a former Reagan official. The Grahams are out after eight decades.

Interesting. It may take some time, but the Redskins name may return to the editors board in the future. I won't hold my breath, but this could be a good sign.
 
If I cared about the Post, I might write him a note expressing my outrage at the Post's ongoing vendetta against my NFL team.

But I don't care. They can suck it now and forever.

That being said, I agree with you that having a more reasonable and less adversarial approach by the Post would be a good thing. I'll believe it when I see it though.

Printer iron-on's are way too inconstant unless you have a large hot press, lots of ink, and a good printer that can deal with the heavy stock paper without dragging the image. I've been doing shirts since the 70's, everything from block relief printing, old school silk screen, airbrushed stencils, and yes, some iron-on's too. For anything more then 5 or 6, commercial printing is the best bet when you going to sell the product.

Wasn't my intent to sell, just get out the word via individual fans who wish to make a statement by doing their own thing.

hard to simply convey on a tee shirt all that is wrong with the overbearing push by the 'ban the word' crowd while being sensitive to the real issues facing the Natives.
