I have a real Marshall 1959 Super sitting out im my garage but it's a hundred Watts and has eight 12-in speakers. It's a limited edition Jimi Hendrix issue and a copy of his primary head. The thing is a beast and gets all those Hendrix, Jimmy Page, early EVH and Angus Young tones. The problem is it is so fucking loud.

So for many years I've been looking for a "Marshall in a box pedal." I've been through so many and none of them have really "nailed it". To me any pedal built with tubes, makes it warmer and more realistic tone. I think I finally found what I have been looking for, for so many years. It arrives tomorrow. Three 12AX7's under the hood. A true pre-amp pedal.

I noticed Marshall was bought out by Zound several years ago.
Has anything noticeable changed since then ?

I don't know all of my Marshall amps are handwired and Tube based made under Jim Marshall before he passed. My 59 Super Lead Plexi 100JH actually came with a signed letter of authenticity from him

Both boards are built, wired and operational (finally!). Now I need full blown signal testing and tone configuration (tweaking knobs!). 😃

Been practicing alot of BB lately...

This guitar has been completely overhauled, from end to end. The original cost was about 600 bucks 25 years ago, and I put another 2000 or more into it. Truly gorgeous blues tones!

My very first snare was a classic Slingerland.
I loved it so much that I used it every time I bought a brand new kit and substituted it for whatever snare came with it, no matter what kind it was.

But I LOVE the Sonor you got. That was my favorite kind of overall kit.
I think when I got a Sonor kit, that was when I stopped usin my old Slingerland snare !

Slingerland are no slouch, one of the best. If you ever run across a vintage Slingy say a Gene Krupa or Buddy Rich COB don’t pass, Rogers COB is great too.

Yea, Rogers' are under-rated.
Speaking of Buddy Rich, I had a nice experience meeting him in person.

One time he went to perform at the Blues Alley in Georgetown, when I was very young man.
Afterwards I talked to him and he asked me to help load up his drums in his truck.
I was like, "the great Buddy Rich is going to TRUST ME, a young nobody he just met, to carry his beloved & treasured drums ?!"

So, for one night, I was Buddy Rich's Roadie

I have some Appalachian roots and have always loved the sound of the Dulcimer. So I bought one. Never held one much less played one but it looks very simple. I got an all walnut 4 string hourglass mountain dulcimer from McSpadden. I am going to rotate my playing time between guitar, mandolin, and the new toy.

I am a big fan of the sounds that are produced by all the different instruments like the dulcimer and love the mandolin. Are dulcimers extremely similar to player the guitar?

It looks like for a lot of songs you are just manipulating the first 2 strings while you strum all of them, so less complex to play than a guitar where you may be manipulating 1-6 strings. Like I said, I have only watched a few beginner videos.
