The Jayden Daniels Tracker

I do hope Daniels is learning from watching Marriota. One of the cool stats against the Broncos was how often Mariotta got rid of the ball in under 2 seconds. Completely nullified their pass rush and was so effective. I don't know that Daniels holds the ball too long, but I think he is too quick to run. JD needs to learn to trust the play and let it rip more often.

Rapid releases require your receivers to be able to make plays in 2 seconds. Perhaps having TM back helped more than we want to give credit for

Daniels had a quick release last year when called for, it was arguably one of the strengths that made his play feel weirdly veteran-like much of the time. He’s not trusting his receivers to be where they’re supposed to be this year, and they’re not getting open at other times, so he’s holding it and playing hero ball. He didn’t do that nearly as much last year

I have mixed feelings about Jayden playing. On the plus side, it looks like he will be playing with almost all his weapons so maybe he won't have to run for his life as much. I hope his oline holds up and JD decides to trust them.

I hope we get to see someone other than McNabb or Shuler wear #5 in the old jerseys. Stay healthy the rest of the year young man and let’s win out. Playing spoiler can be fun too.

Interesting test. Vikings are blitzing almost 60% of the time after their bye week. Flores is a mad scientist when it comes to exotic blitzes.

They're really struggling against the run--we need to run the ball, get Jayden back in the rhythm of the game

I agree with this. But he also took off too soon, something he was doing at the start of last season but it didn't last long. He needs to get back to looking downfield after he escapes pressure.

I'm so looking forward to seeing Jayden Daniels play football again. I am hoping for, and kind of expect, this offense to start resembling last season's offense. Especially with Connerly playing so much better than he did when Jayden was playing.

This is going to be a test for JD in his first game coming back from injury. Vikings D is good. He will need to play like a veteran and not hold the ball for too long. Also, running senselessly may result in another issue. If there are no receiver, just throw the ball away. This game is not impactful as last year. We are not playing for anything here. He just needs reps and get back into groove. It is a good game to be back and go back to doing what he did last year. Just play safe and not get injured again, PLEASE! For me, it's either you are going to playoffs or it's a lost season where you continue to show improvements in performance. Staying healthy is key for the whole Team!

JD needs to play and needs to play a lot. He was barely getting it all together in the beginning of the season before all the WR injuries hit. He needs to use the rest of the this season to work on a few things:
1. better zone reads
2. better at reading defenses
3. better at going through progressions before taking off to run

This will benefit him and the team greatly this and especially next season

Would like to see more under center looks for Daniels, though maybe this isn’t the game for it? Just feels like an area of growth and allows us to be less reliant on the RPOs, which takes away Daniels running as much, lets the backs get a head of steam, and helps the oline not have to worry about getting downfield if it’s a pass read.

If I am the owner I make sure Daniels is shut down for the balance of the season.

Washington has now officially been eliminated from playoff contention.

There is nothing to be gained getting this guy further beaten up when he clearly is not 100%.

I think you have to continue to play him if he’s healthy enough to play. Everything has clearly taken a toll on him mentally. To the point I’m not sure these reps are valuable.
I agree, wrapping him in bubble wrap is not the answer. He needs game time reps, real NFL reps, and he can only get that if he’s playing.
