The Starter
This most likely will be our line for awhile now including next season and our receiving core should have a healthy McLaurin and Deebo by the time he returns. Every team doesn't make the playoffs or has a great season every year but you don't bench healthy players because of that. Jayden is not the finished product and each start is an opportunity for him to improve, particularly with weapons around him.I’m sorry, but he is the future of the franchise and having him out there in meaningless games with a line that can’t protect him and no one to throw the ball to AFTER he has suffered 3 injuries already this year? You getting value for your entertainment dollar is like #1000 on the list of concerns.
The coaches didn’t put him on IR because we aren’t mathematically eliminated and it’s their job to try and pull off a miracle run. When that is no longer possible, you protect your most important asset. To me, any other attitude is insane. Do you want him to tear his ACL in the last game of the season and be out for the bulk of 2026 too? Because bringing him back under these circumstances is begging for that
If the season ends now, he goes into next year with a lot of question marks as opposed to him finishing the season with some great games with Terry and Deebo. Even without the playoffs, that's not meaningless to me. Finishing the season beating Dallas and Philly twice still puts us on the path to have a bright future next year instead of it looking bleak like it does now. I also think the ticket holders should matter.
I'm sure Jayden will want to play if healthy, especially after being criticized for the injuries, warner criticizing his play, people saying that he had a sophomore slump, some of his peers passing him, etc. I'd much rather and he would much rather shut that up and look great with McLaurin back. Then everyone will say that this still may have been a great team if not for injuries and Jayden is still the best young QB. I think that means a lot to him.
