The Jayden Daniels Tracker

I wish this had come out last season after the Hail Mary game. This wouldn't be so juicy and funny if the Bears fans didn't have such a complex.

Caleb is in such a good situation to succeed this year. OL. Elite, ELITE weapons. Offensive genius HC. IF he doesn't look great, and the Bears don't do well... I think Caleb looks good and the Bears do well. The talent on that offense is top 3-5 in the NFC. But, I'm here for the drama if it falls apart!

“The rookie cap is just unconstitutional,” Carl Williams told Wickersham

lol wut?

I must have completely forgotten about the 28th amendment: "The right of an NFL QB to make total bank whenever he wants and to bypass the NFL draft because he's just that amazing shall not be infringed"

We got the right guy.

Why are we still talking about Caleb? He plays somewhere else.
Because his Dad is all over the news.

Just because it helps us appreciate and remember that we are finally the franchise that wins, has a proven #1 QB, and doesn’t have drama.

It seemed appropriate to put here because it made me really grateful that we have Jayden.

But the shaudenfreude is also a little bit funny.

Honestly, I still think it’d be fun if Daniels and X became this generation’s Brady vs Manning. I don’t truly care who emerges as the nemesis

Daniels/Stroud
Daniels/Williams
Daniels/Penix
Etc.

It’d all be great, but to be good enough to have rivalry that is a national talking point would be amazing.

I’ll be interested to see how JJ McCarthy looks this year.

I always expected Caleb Williams to bust in Chicago. That team hasn't had a legit QB since Sid Luckman, so basically since WW2.

The bears just aren't supposed to have a good QB. We will definitely see this year. Williams has an even more stacked offense than last year, and a HC who is supposed to be one of the best. Watch them once again dig for excuses when there really are none.

Well he probably won't be a total bust. I'm just saying, he's probably never going to come close to matching the expectations and hopefully JD makes his draft position look like a major mistake.

So far, so good.

Shades of the 1984 NBA Draft with Sam Bowie taken over Michael Jordan. 🤣

I know I didn’t think he would be a bust. I wanted Jayden over Maye, but I was also hoping Caleb would spurn Chicago and force his way to DC. In hindsight, it’s funny, because all the red flags were there… the nail polish, the crying to mommy, teammates saying ‘we a team now’ when he wasn’t playing, etc. It all pointed to a guy who had all the talent in the world, but not necessarily the mental attributes to be a star QB in the NFL. He’ll still forge a decent career on talent alone, maybe even have a late surge ala Baker Mayfield after he matures some. Not a total flameout by any means, but for a number one overall pick taken before Jayden, yeah, he’s a bust.

If he can continue his stats like he had in the playoffs and the last couple games of the regular season he might end up with something like 4500-4600 yards 35-38Tds 7-8 Ints and 750-900 yards rushing 5-7 rushing TDs.

I'll downgrade all that a bit and say he misses a game or part of a couple. 3900-4100 yards 30 TDs 7 Ints 650 yards rushing and 5 rushing TDs. Any better than that and we probably have the No1 offense in the entire league.

I might even go lower after accounting for the schedule. If he puts up those numbers he will probably be competing with Lamar, Josh and Burrow for MVP.

If he does that I would gladly drink a tall glass of Dan Snyder's tears.

With the better o line, I hope his rushing stats drop. So, maybe 400 yards rushing, but 4,500+ passing because all those scrambles suddenly become effective passing plays.
