Claiming Jayden Daniels is the 4th best in the 2024 class is straight up absurd. The only argument for him not being #1 is because of Drake Maye's 2025 season, but for me, all things considered I compare the postseasons of both and that is why I give the edge to Jayden Daniels. Acting like Caleb did anything in 2025 to surpass what Jayden Daniels had already showed is laughable. His 2025 was not nearly as impressive as Jayden's 2024.

Couldn’t agree more. Recency bias is one thing, but this is ridiculous. All he did was have arguably the greatest rookie season of all time by a QB. And don’t give me that he got lucky and had an easy schedule crap. To the extent that schedule was easy, it was because we played a series of backup/crappy quarterbacks. But the defenses we went against were plenty legit. Look what he did against Philly, one of the greatest defensive units we’ve seen in years. And if we’re going to play the easy schedule game anyway, you might as well cross Drake Maye off the list because the Patriots played literally the easiest schedule I’ve seen in my entire life.
Not to mention that hindsight tells us that Jayden did what he did with a vastly inferior squad around him to what the other guys are playing with. And yet when it mattered most, he won two playoff games on the road as a heavy underdog. Let me know when any of those other guys do something like that and we can talk, but for now Jayden is still number one until further notice.

I feel like some of this great rookie season stuff gets written off cause of how CJ Stroud has looked since his good rookie year. Stroud regressed to league average.

I guess they’re both a victim of their own success. JD‘s rookie season was so good it would be nearly impossible not to have some regression. With Stroud, they have a great defense and a conservative game plan. He’s still a great player, just not asked to do as much as other guys. He/they win games, and that’s the most important thing. Patrick Mahomes stats are way down for pretty much the same reasons. But he’s still an all-time great QB and if circumstances change for either of them, I’m sure we’ll see much more prolific stats. For now though, they’ll be way down the list on the fantasy QB rankings, but likely playing in the playoffs as usual.

I don't actually really care where he ranks. The nice thing about the NFL is "you are what your record says you are."

If we're 5-12 again this year, we suck. And Daniels probably sucks or can be labeled injury prone.

If we're 11-6, then we aren't suck this year, and Daniels is probably a top 5 QB again.

The last thing anybody remembers about Daniels is him getting hurt over and over and over. And going 0-1 in 3 snaps in the preseason certainly didn't change any opinions.

If I'm not mistaken, Daniel Jeramiah is mostly a draft guy. Which means he has about 7 months of irrelevance. Nobody cares about the draft in August or September. So he has to say stupid click bate shit so he's not deemed irrelevant. He puts that out, that's content that can keep a show going for a week when nothing else is happening.

Yeah I feel like at least Drake Maye actually had an impressive season by the numbers so I can see the tendency for the media to feel he "looks the part" in being a future star, but this sudden love for Caleb Williams based on him being a little bit better in 2025 is ridiculous. It really feels like it is because of a few clutch throws he made in games where overall he was still pretty mediocre, it was just that his defense gave him a chance to show off his insane arm talent in a few high profile spots.
