PFF thinks Greenard's sack/win rate was to some degree a fluke as half of his sacks were against Zack Wilson, Will Levis and Bryce Young.
The win rate of 25% is not sustainable based on the rates of the best DL in the NFL over time.
Seems like it could be a contract year blip on the upside.
As we learned from Daron Payne, the numbers guys put up in walk years is often the very top of performance you are going to see out of them in their careers.
Will Payne ever get 11 sacks again? Probably not.
Would it have made more sense to perhaps trade Payne's rights and then keep and pay Montez Sweat?
Perhaps.
Sweat is 27 years old, the same age as Greenard, but to me is a better all around football player.

He is a defensive end that on passing downs moved inside to DT.
He's a good football player and got singled out by the broadcast idiots in the playoffs for not being able to hold the point at the line while at DT against the Packers run game.
That was not supposed to be his role and was playing out of position due to the injury issues of Johnathan Hankins.
He's 265, trust me they aren't signing him to play DT.

Thanks. Someone posted he was a DT on Twitter. We definitely could use edges. Not expecting Reggie White, but hopefully he's at least Phillip Daniels.
