The Consumer/Buyer Beware Thread

I'm in a mad fight with my natural gas provider (Scana) right now. My therms this month were EXACTLY the same as last month, 15.5, which was $21.16 last month with taxes/fees. This month, they've tacked on a $33.92 "pass through charge" from Atlanta Gas Light because "they maintain the pipes" (according to the lady on the phone). She also said this was on every bill, but has not been...I paid $21.16 last month with no added fee for the fucking pipes. (Sorry, I'm so mad right now I could chew steel nails and spit 'em out.)

I had a different provider at my house that I sold and NEVER saw this on any bill I paid.

Anyone else going through a bunch of nonsense with a utility or product you've purchased? Anyone who could offer any tips to deal with things like this would be greatly appreciated, I did everything except use my "Sailor Language" on the phone. "This isn't fair, not cool, gonna call the BBB, etc."

We have something like that on our water bill. Our actual water usage is like 8-10 dollars but they add some BS drainage fee which is around 40 dollars a month. We don't use a ton of water either.

My neighbor waters their grass all the time and their water bill is like 200 dollars a month. He's pissed about it because none of that water goes through a drain.
