Any of you guys have a car obsession (or really any motorized wheeled vehicles) that has been an important part of your lives?

I am guilty and it all began with my first car at 16. A 1969 Chevy Chevelle fast-back that I spiffed up with Cragar mags and wide tires despite the straight 6 under the hood. 😉

If there is any interest, I will post some pics of some of my favorites over the years but many predate modern photographic technology.

My early list included a 5.0 Mustang, a Mazda RX-7, a Nissan 300zx, a Porsche 944, an 82 Corvette, and a baby Beemer until my foray into luxury cars from Jaguar, Cadillac x2, Infiniti x2, etc. The last 10-12 years I have returned to high-performance sports coupes.

I’m also very big into detailing and even did that as a side gig out of my garage for a select few that deserved my special attention-to-detail (otherwise referred to as OCD).

I have an 08 roush mustang. Nothing fancy but it is supercharged and it gets up and goes pretty good.

One interesting thing on this car is it's an error car.
The original owner noticed that it was serialized 1 of ten as a white coup with black matte stripes but the car is a convertible.

He contacted roush and they went Oops and re serialized it one of one and its signed on the air intake and dashboard by Jack roush as 1 of 1.
May not mean too much now but in 20 or 30 years that could be something special.

OMG, other than a GTO (any year), I'm a huge fan of Chevelles. I also know I'd be wrapped around a tree or 9 if I had one.
I have a bass player buddy who shows his. I have pics from the beginning of the rebuild until the end.

Got another buddy, Buick specialist from the 60s up. He's working on a yellow GTX? He also has an '08 Vette that he races, and just bought a new blue Camaro. I have pics of those too.

I'm a car girl, hope no one minds & I don't mean to get in the way of the x/o thing. I love to learn.

You guys are warming my heart with the condition you keep those in. I don’t worry about other drivers backing in…because I park far away from everyone. 🤣

I will start with my next to last. This one was my forever car. I purchased it at the end of it’s lease for $29k but the BB was $45k as it was mint and only had 15k miles on it. I call it my forever car because I treated it with so much love and fully intended that it would be my last. 2018 Infiniti Q60S Red Sport 400. Twin turbo, 400 hp, and white leather interior.

3 months after my purchase it was taken from me by some absolute idiots on I-95 in Miami. And, no, I'm still not over it.

This is my current ride which I purchased for cash from the insurance settlement from above. 2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti Sport. Nice but not a forever car.

^^^ I love that color. Looks just a tad darker than Duke Blue?

My Chevelle buddy also follows Steve Harris from iron Maiden in his new band, British Lion.

Totally depends on the light. It’s different at different times of the day. It’s called Misano blue after the Misano Adriatic area seacoast in Southern Italy.

I like OBS Ford trucks. Have a bunch, nothing nice. Bronco with no roof and soon to have no doors, is my daily driver. Only a 2 inch lift with 33's, but the 302 is peppy and the 5 speed is fun. I have a 2wd x cab 150 that will be my daily when I get the engine back together, Putting an 04 Expedition interior in it too. Have a 96 F250 with 4.10 gears locked front and rear and a 460 that will drive through anything. 4 inch lift on that, but I need to redo it. Nothing worthy of pictures.

If I lived in a rural area I would definitely have a pickup. I had a family friend with 400 acres in southwestern Illinois, it was a 4 wheeler and pickup nirvana. Great memories.

I am kind of torn on what do with my pickup truck. I do live in a rural area and I use it for firewood, to take yard waste to the burn pile and occasional trips to the dump. I used to take my dogs in it until it became unreliable, now I just use the car unless she gets wet. It's also our only 4WD vehicle. I only drive it a few thousaind miles a year, it's a 2004 but only has 150,000 miles. So given it's hardly used it's hard to justify buying a replacement, but I also can't do without it.

I was a previous member of the Alfa Romeo club!
I had a 147 for a while. Hot hatch. Nippy as heck, LOVED it!
Would I recommend one? Nope! 😝
The reliability was awful and the build quality terrible. But it was an Alfa and did feel special to drive!
