Interesting that John Keim was a contributor to the big EPSN story today. Wonder if that'll impact how welcome he is in Ashburn going forward?
 
I also thought it was interesting how much Al Michaels played up that the owners want him to sell. He wouldn't say that on national tv unless they have good information would he?
 
Michaels has a reputation for being old school and not really controversial. If he’s putting it out there I suspect that’s what he’s hearing.

Might be that Bezos gave him a green light. Because Amazon does not necessarily have any worry about losing money due to some loose tongues taking shots at the NFL or certain individuals in it. Whereas the rest of the media does depend on media access, ratings, etc from football.
 
From today's Rich Eisen Show. While this is HIS show and not affiliated with the NFL Network, he is very much the face of the NFL Network and as such, I have to ask myself if he would dedicate this much time to all the shit in Washington if the league didn't want it all talked about. I mean, he really spent some time on this.

I wish the Oversight Committee would go ahead and release whatever they've got. There will never be more momentuum to force this fucker to sell than there is right now. The NFL needs max pressure. And I'll keep saying it, Washington fans should be chanting 'Sell the Team' every chance they get for TV audiences, during games, during post-game interviews, at the draft. Just make it our battle cry. So sick of fans with the 'he'll never sell so stop talking about it'. We have the power to make it happen if we actually give a shit.

First time I've ever heard it. Ever. It's way overdue, and honestly fans need to be able to separate Snyder from how they feel about the team and start violently expressing their wishes. I am so sick of people who echo the 'nothing will ever change' BS. It's all about will and pressure and perserverance - anything is possible. But nothing will change with lackadaisical apathy.
 
I definitely think the fans chanting at the stadium would help. Snyder has always reacted to any criticism as the media is out to get him. I can't remember who it was that came into the organization a few years ago and was surprised at how angry the fans were. I think he's been isolated from all of that and the only place fans can make their voices heard is at the stadium. I still think he's soulless and nothing will affect him, but I also don't know how he or his lackeys can spin that one.
 
So, I read that whole ESPN article.

Wentz being a Snyder move is believable, but not the "wanting a marquee quarterback" justification part. I believe my own conclusion that it was to buy Irsay's favor as far more plausible, especially since we gobbled up all the cap hit and we're starting him regardless of performance. ESPN doesn't want to highlight the down and dirty underhanded league dealings because they still are subordinate to the NFL.

Ron is a stooge and that outburst was a full stooge move to satisfy the master. Ron also didn't want to fire Vermillion.

Snyder is not in a position of strength and hence he is willing to give opposing teams what they want. Eventually, the league will assist us to some wins so top 10 picks do not go to us and we finished with 6-8 wins.
 
I don't think the league is afraid of us in the draft room.

We traded up for the #2 pick in 2012, had the #5 pick in 2015, had the #2 overall pick in 2020 and this team is still 2-4 and hasn't won a playoff game since 2005.

It's interesting though that what Ron and Co. did in Carolina to build a competitive team are NOT the things he is doing here.

In his first year they took the plunge and drafted a quarterback #1 overall. After that pick they were able to draft top level defensive performers to grow with Cam and take them to a Super Bowl appearance in 2015.

Here in DC, we fail to commit to the quarterback position in terms of draft capital. We have failed to build a consistently excellent defense where players and scheme are in sync.

Of course Ron, Marty, and the others are 12 or 13 years older than they were when they started in Carolina.

I heard on the NFL channel on XM that Snyder is on the agenda for these meetings. I’m still skeptical, but this is a big step. Now the world knows they have discussed him and it will be very difficult for the other owners to leave him in power. There will be pressure on the other owners as well.

It certainly feels like the walls are (continuing) to close in on him.

The problem is I can't help but be cynical because the phrase "I just don't see how he doesn't get kicked out" has come out of my mouth enough times and proven false... that I have little hope. I have hope... just little hope. This may be it, it definitely feels like we could look back 3 years from now and eveyrone would be able to say 'they literally had no choice with everything that was going on'. That would just make sense. It would also have made sense for him to be gone about 3 or 4 times over the last decades... maybe not THIS much sense, but it would have made sense.
 
DC AG has hinted there will be criminal charges. And we haven’t heard from the Oversight Committee or Mary Jo White. Lot of shoes potentially dropping soon.
 
Ok, so let’s say the votes are there to relieve Snyder of his franchise and he forces them to do so rather than seeing the writing on the wall and agreeing to sell.

If Snyder chooses to fight, how many years will that battle eat up? 5 at a minimum?
 
No idea. Does he remain an ‘owner’ during that period (if he doesn’t accept an NFL decision)? Seems like he would be barred from participating as an owner since the NFL has bylaws and as long as they followed their own procedures, he’s out. If he wants to legally contest it he can but the NFL doesn’t have to stand down while he does unless a judge intervened to temporarily suspend the removal.

If Snyder thinks he’s persona non-grata now, imagine how much hate and derision he’ll be subject to should he be voted and out and refuses to accept it?

From what I understand, the vote is the vote. The NFL is a private entity, there's no CBA for ownership, no union, not publicy traded... etc. IF he's voted out, the only real recourse (again, from what I understand) is the court of public opinion. I imagine if he is in fact voted out, he is going to attempt to take every possible avenue to discredit it. I don't THINK there's any real legal foundation but I could be totally wrong (or misinformed).
 
It would, however, but just like him to not accept being voted out and drag this out for as long as possible.
