The Bombshell

If the NFL truly just focuses on one thing, then the hope would be people would see this as so egregious that there is public demand to know more about everything else.

Yep. Get Snyder on record telling lies so that when the Wilkinson report details finally do come out, it's clear he perjured himself. That alone, perjury in front of Congress, ought to be enough to remove an owner.

If you haven't signed the petition, no time like the present...

Though I am generally not a fan of Loverro’s work, I do love a well-turned phrase.

’Illusion of inclusion’ is some very solid wordsmithing.

Does Doug Williams still work for the commanders? There is an article out where he is criticizing Grambling for hiring Art Briles. If you recall, Briles was fired from Baylor for not doing enough about the rape and sexual assaults by football players. He was actually cleared of wrongdoing, but nevertheless, he was tied to this scandal and was fired for it. Williams says he will not support Grambling because they hired Briles. I know the accusations of what happened at Baylor were extremely serious. More serious than what has been shown to happen at Redskins Park or whatever they call it now.

But, does Willams have that little self awareness? Does he not realize the team he currently works for, his boss specifically, is under the same scrutiny that Briles was under years ago? People Doug worked with and worked for are directly involved in the harassment and cover up of similar things? He might need to worry about his own house before he criticizes another. We have said this whole time that powerful and popular players and coaches from the past need to speak out on this. And here is Doug speaking out on hiring someone tied to sexual harassment at another place.

For the record, I don’t want to turn this on Doug Williams. The focus needs to be on Snyder. But the lack of self awareness displayed by a member of the front office is frustrating.

I don’t know Kel - it’s not like Jason Wright where he had no part on previous front offices. Doug Williams was a leader during the time this all allegedly went on. To our knowledge he said and did nothing about it. He’s as culpable as anyone in my book.

I do t think anyone has ever accused Doug Williams of being a genius. He’s pretty much been moved away from decision-making roles within the org. He’s that shiny example of glory days past so they keep him around for old times sake and trot him out whenever they want some sure fire fan good will.

You’re 100% right that criticizing Grambling for hiring Art Briles while you cash your checks working for Caligula every month is hypocritical as hell and I’m glad he’s getting called out for it. He and others (including Saint Joe) need to step up and tell what they know, saw, and experienced related to all the allegations. I won’t hold my breath.

I didn’t read the Post article since they expect me to pay for information. So I searched online and found other stories. Anyway, I didn’t see where they gave a reason. That’s the only disappointing part. They could have made a statement in this saying it has to do with the sexual assault charges. But they tried to play both sides by just saying “We aren’t renewing at this time”. Overall, I think this is good and this is the pressure that is needed. But I want them to take a stand and say why they are cutting ties.

100% agree brother. On the other hand, everyone knows why - but they could have made a bigger impact if they’d said why. Probably afraid od Snyder’s lawyers.

Finlay is reporting today that AB's deal with Washington was an exclusive rights deal which is rare in the NFL and them letting the deal go outright is equally rare. They normally would have just downgraded to a non-exclusive deal for less money due the team. AB not continuing the relationship will cost the team $4 million a year. It was their 4th largest sponsorship deal.

This isn't about the beer.

Washington will likely still have Bud Light on tap at the stadium this fall (unless they sign a major sponsorship deal with Miller Coors).
I know.
I rarely buy anything at the games. When I do, it's one of those overpriced "premium" beers, that I nurse for a couple of quarters to keep the tailgate buzz going.
Well, the piss is staying. It's what the rain down on the fans during games!
Well played, ya Mook!

Nothing crazy here….but how in the world is this shitlord still employed by the league?

Dude, he spent $800 million to be "employed" by the league. Makes him difficult to "fire". Not impossible but definitely difficult.

So - this is the kind of shit that, if proven true, could be a big deal…
