Sources close to the sale saying that reports are untrue only confirm to me that they are. 🤓
 
It might have happened. I'm just saying Joe Blow and Rick Snider hardly have the kind of inside access to know one way or the other. Disappointed in Snider jumping on the 'breaking news' train when he likely doesn't have any reliable sources.
 
Everyone just desperate to be the first, I think.
 
Payout dates are May 12th. I guess traditionally contracts have those payments being made almost immediately.

 
The only league meeting between now and May 12th is in a few days. Just saying...

I can report that this isn't true. I have received no such notification and my bid of thirty-five cents plus a promise to not sue the NFL for pain and suffering was on the up and up.

Good lord - how many billionaires do you need to buy this ****ing team? Raises some questions but maybe this has been in the works for awhile and media just finding out about it? If this just happened, lends credence to the 'Bezos is still in it' idea...
 
Serious question- How many of the current team owners could afford to buy their teams today at the current valuations? (Outside of the Walton family of course.)

The answer is almost none of them. From the numbers I've seen, I'm thinking somewhere between 6 and 10 of the current owners could buy a team today if they didn't already own one. Might not be the team they have now, either.

In fact, if you remove the value of the team, a fair number of them don't get into the Billionaire's club right now.

Harris and Roles are both reportedly worth more right now, without an NFL franchise than the bottom half of current league owners.

According to Barron's, there are 192 people in the WORLD who are worth more than $10 Billion. If you consider that Harris and Roles are worth between 12 and 13 billion together, then you are looking at someone worth $10 Billion or more if you want an individual to own the team rather than a group.

Really reduces your pool of buyers, ya know.

You’re second paragraph is the key. Dan Snyder probably couldn’t afford the concessions contract at Fedex without the team being included in his net worth.
 
You are correct, sir.

Dan is absolutely one of those guys who could not afford to buy an NFL team today if he didn't already own one.

The sad thing is that if he had run this thing correctly, he could be worth a lot more today.
