You should be worried about more than just C. The Tunsil injury shifted Coleman from LG, and reports are Paul is struggling. It sounds like his pass protection has regressed from last year and his run blocking is still awful.

As competent as Coleman is at LT, we should want him at guard and Decker at LT. If Decker gets hurt, then boom, you have an LT replacement in Coleman. The issue with Coleman is he is a ticking time bomb. He is going to get injured with something and then we'll be stuck with someone like Trent Scott at LT

I think that's right. I think it's also that they realize that Coleman is good and that they wanted to find a place for him. Obviously, they weren't going to bench Tunsil in favor of him and while I'd be curious to see if Coleman would have beaten out Connerly, I just don't see them giving up on a first rounder that quickly.

This is why I never understood starting Connelly over Coleman....even playing out of position and especially when he had the year he had in 2024. I really didn't see anything Connelly did to stand out but when I saw pressures and sacks it was because he whiffed. Coleman for President fuck it!!

Sure. I wouldn’t see it as an issue if I smashed my foot with a sledgehammer repeatedly, either. But it’s probably still a problem anyways.

I know 95% of the discussion here is regarding the OL talent itself, but we also have a new OL coach. I think how well he coaches and his decision-making ability are going to be a big factor in how the line performs this season. Darnell Stapleton has some experience - but not as an NFL OL coach. He is a former Steelers offensive lineman. He spent the bulk of his coaching career at small schools with ony two seasons of big time college experience at Florida before his 2 seasons as Assistant OL coach here. This is a big step up and he is now being thrown into the fire in a major way with a new offense and several critical injuries. It is a very tough situation for a first time coach. This is one of the reasons I am looking at Adam Peters to make a significant move to add some help for Stapleton. Here's to hoping Stapleton is a future coaching star.

Notice that all of these guys will probably be available because the team has good competition at the position.

A bunch of us liked Van Pran-G in the draft. My one issue with him is they didn't trust him to take over when McGovern went down. It also does't help that they went out and grabbed Cushenberry as soon as that occurred. He is the guy we should have grabbed back then to solidify ourselves after the draft.

Fortner might be the best scenario of the three. He is getting replaced by a rookie I really liked who fell till the top of the 5th

I like these pro-active posts in lieu of the "would of/should of/could of" handwringing posts. Some discussions about people's choices for possible trade targets would be nice.

From the selection above, I would be interested in Luke Fortner, even if he is 6'6".

Wouldn’t mind any of those 3 . Another that could be interesting is Jordan Meredith at the Raiders. Had his breakout season in 2024 primarily at guard. Played last year as centre. His grade fell off a bit but mostly attributed to the scheme change. Would be a better fit here with his mobility. Immediate cover at centre and would be in competition for LG spot.

Fortner was actually a bust in Jacksonville. Disappointment for a 3rd round pick. I think I’d rather have Glasgow than any of these three because of system familiarity and size/anchor

Keim noted that he thinks Humphries could go sit on practice squad for a bit. There are a bunch of players who could go sit on practice squad without anyone claiming them. On offensive line, it would literally be any lineman sans the starters and Wylie. That is a very clear tell to go add at least two pieces post cutdown day
