I would tend to agree with you, but I'm open to the thought that Peters thinks he can keep re-rolling 1-yr deals at a high hit rate. I'd say 2 years ago it worked... last year it didn't. If he's back to his winning ways this year... 🤞

They desperately need the 2024 draft class to step up and a lot of these 1 year deals go away.

I dont think anyone is ignoring the obvious. The alternative to Diggs was Burks. And the scheme, usage and role wouldnt mean shit at that point.

I was over the moon for Fabian and his name, I am over Mars for Diggs. I wouldn't want Diggs on a 2 year deal. For all the praise I give him, I don't want to be tied to him long term if his age does catch up and make things go down hill. The team needs to get a long term solution, and ideally, McLauren will be the old dude who ages with grace like Santana Moss did.

I think outside of the Lattimore trade (probably the most "putting all the marbles in for right now" move of his tenure so far) I like how AP is going about signing older vets. These are mostly short term contracts that are not blowing up cap or ability to make more moves and they feel designed in such a way that they are looking to squeeze the last of the juice out of aging veterans while they still have productive seasons ahead of them while it buys the organization 1-2 seasons more to look at finding long term solutions. I had a similar vibe at the way the 2024 team was being built in that it seemed like AP was a big picture/long term minded type of GM but he didn't want to necessarily abandon all hope of competing in the short term while putting together the pieces for what we all hope is a juggernaut of a team in a couple of more seasons. I feel like this is such a stark contrast to what we have experienced under the previous regime where it was constantly "sign as many names as you can and if it doesn't yield results in a few seasons, blow it all up and start over"

I assumed Ertz’s career was over after the injury last season, and it probably is time to move on at 35 years old, but I will be rooting for him after what he gave us the last couple years.

If anybody is going to give him a shot, then it will probably be us (because of his relationship with Jayden), Philly (so he can retire as an Eagle), or maybe a team that loses a TE to injury.

Safety and offensive line are now the major areas we need to look at.

Center and LG are major questions and post safety is a MAJOR concern.

Until Amos practices, the biggest hole, in my opinion, is still CB. It's a premier position for a reason, and right now we have Douglas, who just got here, and Sainristil as the starters outside and Robertson in the slot. And while I appreciate the signing of Fabian Moreau, until he's not the primary backup, I'm going to be rally nervous about that position. Though, I'm grateful we have Douglas and Moreau, because before those signings, the next guy in was possibly the guy who just retired.

That room was a total mess. It's better now, and it will be ok once Amos is practicing and looks good. Until then, that's my biggest question.

Center is my second concern, but it's not a premier position for a reason. And I think Allegretti will be just fine if he's healthy. What is really concerning is backup depth at center. So we'll see how that plays out.

Safety, we'll see how that works out. I doubt they bring anybody else in.

I don't have any real concerns at guard. Paul played fine last year. Either he or Coleman will play at least at that level this year, which is absolutely good enough.

I don't think that's the case. I think the alternative was McCaffrey/Williams. Unless Diggs plays better than he did in New England (which again, a reminder of the aforementioned concerns), then he's in the Slot and we still have someone not optimal as the 2nd outside WR.

Something which was mentioned by a number of people, they aren’t using WRs in the traditional sense in this offense. There is so much motions and switching, different formations that it kodof masks who is in what role.

I think what you’re going to see is the best 3 WR on the field the most often with a rotation behind that. And from those three, they’re all going to line up all over the place.

So if the best three are Terry, Diggs and Williams, so be it. They’ll all be all over the place.

I think what’s more interesting is everybody seems to think we’ll see a lot of 12/13 personnel, which means either 2 or 1 WR.

I’m interested to see how the reps play out with 2 WRs. I could actually see Diyami Brown or McCaffery getting a lot of those reps because they are really good blockers in the run game. But both have good speed so it’s bit an entire tell the play is going to be a run play.

Diggs at this point is less of a willing blocker than he was and Williams doesn’t have great size for it.

So we’ll see. I think the way they mix and match is going to be really interesting.
