The 2026 Free Agency Thread

By the end of week 5, we had lost Armstrong, Wise, and Jean-Baptiste. I really can't imagine any DT thriving next to backup to backup DEs. Regardless, I don't like Payne a whole lot. I just think he's better than whoever else we have on the roster and what's available in free agency. It's worth eating his salary until we have the draft capital and renewed free agency class of next year.

Keim did say an opposing coach told him they just had to plan for him and Kinlaw after the injuries

That’s a lot for a special teams guy.
Pro Bowl special teamer and he actually was decent at Safety, at least better than I thought he would be. If we don't sign anyone major at Safety, I think that he is still going to get a good amount of burn and probably will be a starter if Quan or Cross go down

That really is a lot. I'm not sure the team can afford it. They're probably strapped for cash at this point, spending on luxuries like Reaves.

Im not sure that number is accurate.

im seeing 3.5 million not 6.5 from a few other places.

this guy is the only one I've found who says 6.5.

spotrac says 3.5.

Over the cap is saying the exact same thing.

I believe half of what I see and 17% of what I read.

So when you boil it down hes making about 2 million more than league minimum and his guarantees are only about 700 k more than league minimum.
Nothing crazy for an all pro special teamer.

This is also how I feel about Jennings yet it seems like a lot of our fans really want him while crapping on Aiyuk but in reality Brandon the superior player. I get it with the injuries and maybe some other worries but I'd rather take the risk with Aiyuk than paying Jennings a lot. If he drops the price then great but he's not worth big money until he has at least one more good receiving year.

Well, Jennings was really the only FA WR that I saw as a solid answer for our WR hole. I'd say they plan on waiting for Aiyuk and maybe taking a WR at 71 (assuming Tate is gone before 7)

I still wouldn't be upset if we go defense either in the draft. Part of me would love to see a killer D also

Peters and his ex-49ers is beginning to remind me of George Allen and all of his ex-Rams he brought in to Washington that first year or two with the Redskins.

I thought you were going with Carolina here when I first started reading the post.
