The fact that Dyami could still be claimed for a one year 3M contract speaks ill for him. He was great during that playoff stretch but it looks like the light switch didn't stayed flipped to the on position.

Oh no doubt. He's nothing special but some guys are just better for you. I just felt like he had built chemistry with Jayden and was ascending.

The Jags situation was weird all the way around honestly. I followed him early and he was the talk of camp. Everyone was glowing about him and then everything faded.

Then you see how BTJ had issues and they gave up the farm for Hunter and he also wasn'tnspecial or anything

It just made no sense considering Cohen is supposed to be a offensive guru, they made the playoffs, and Lawrence was pretty good. It just looked like Cohen had Lawrence spreading the ball around instead of focusing on certain guys which isn't a bad thing.

Hope you are right, some draftniks that are plugged in think he's going 4 or 5. If he falls to #7, especially post FA, seems like an easy pick for this team. Keep in mind, Love is a passing weapon, too.

I want a young Wr, I am probably the biggest Tate fan on the draft thread. But no way, I'd pass over Love if he fell to 7.

skinsinparadise There's no doubt in my mind you are the biggest Tate fan on this forum anyway. It's all good. I am/was all over Downs and Bailey. Things/moves have changed the draft now. I like Tate but not as much as others. Don't get me wrong I don't hate him. We have a huge need at RB and WR w/o a doubt. We need to consider both heavily in the draft now. I go Love if available at #7 (if he's still there and that's key as you have said with interest from other teams drafting before us and slight possibly of another team moving up for him).

I'd be ok with AP going Tate at #7 as he reinvented his game in 2025 from 2024. I guess I get Howarditus and Westbrookitis thoughts when thinking about 1st round WR draft picks. LOL

Guys that finish with 25-30 catches aren't going to get more than one year deals.

I don't know if Dyami has a role here but he could surprise as a #3 or #4.

Realistically he is a #5.

Dyami was arguably putting up WR3 numbers the first half of last year before he got sat. If you look at his game log, his production for the season came thru 11/2 (with 8 yards for 1 catch in the final game)

As someone noted, he was the Jags camp star but it seemed to fall apart for him as the season progressed. Part of it was his target efficiency being poor.

It’s possible he just has/had good chemistry with Jayden and can bounce back next year with this in tow. He is a 3 level receiver who can block and play teams

I am not opposed to drafting Love, but I would suggest that the Chiefs and Patriots, the most recent NFL dynasties, didn't come to the Super Bowl most years with a bell cow back that is in the top 5 at this position.

Teams can win with workman-like solid backs that fill their roles and do their jobs.

Derrick Henry and Adrian Peterson, the top backs of their generation in terms of production, never played in a Super Bowl to date.

#7 pick probably gets a 4 year fully guaranteed $35m deal. Significant cost and cap benefit if you go premium position, based on this years FA numbers.

I remember Dyami making plays late 2024 and in the playoffs. He had 18 catches in those three playoffs games, and he was averaging 4 or 5 catches a game in the last quarter of the season. I was surprised when we let him go.

So, this makes sense to me. It seemed like he and Jayden had developed some chemistry.

We have so much cap space. I half hate this kind of thinking because if we aren’t spending to the cap anyway, just take the better player. The other half of me though is blown away by the kind of contracts we are seeing for guys like Pierce.

I think at RB we have a fairly well defined 2/3/4.

And that’s a good thing. But we need to add that #1.

Problem is we are still looking for WR2 as well.

I'm not fully as concerned about wr as I feel like Aiyuk is pretty much a done deal, especially after adding his alumni buddy in White

Yeah, he's Post-season Brown cause that's where he shined. Unfortunately, just kind of average the rest of the season. They didn't bring him back because he wanted more than they wanted to give him. I think they were right considereing his time with the Jaguars and the contract value we gave him this year.

He's a decent backup outside WR, he can play Z or X. Good with screens. Good blocker. On occasion good with the deep ball. Assuming they sign a Z -- at least it won't be a disaster if Terry or whomever is the Z gets hurt.

I watched some Claiborne last night, need to watch more, on first look, poor man's Achane. Speed-homerun ability is intriguing. I am not ready to launch full opinions yet on that class aside from Love, I've seen a lot of Price though via watching Love. Price doesn't have Loves explosion or hands, but good vision, fun watch.

With what we have at RB now and even with Ford, I think we need a workhorse pass catching RB now in Love, then WR. If WR Tate at #7 cool.
