FWIW, looks like Jefferson has also played on ST.

Very limited snaps on teams. I dont think he was brought in with ST in mind. I don't hate the signing, decent fallback if needed, but I expect we upgrade at some point and he doesnt make it.

Id bet Jennings has drawn considerable interest. At 29, hoping for the best deal he can get bc it will be his best opportunity for a decent multi year deal. Probably knows he has some leverage and is willing to take his time. DB and VJ not so much, so they jumped on an opportunity before the wells ran dry.

Dyami was the rave of camp for the Jags but things quickly went left when the season started. It's hard to know what that means considering BTJ also regressed for the Jags. Brown at least makes me feel somewhat more comfortable if we have injuries.

I also think these moves are to somewhat let both Jennings and the 49ers with Aiyuk know that we aren't just going to desperately wait for them and we did just sign a guy in Brown who had some legitimate success here and with Jayden so we can go with him and a draft pick

Then there was that game he started and had zero catches. But he had some moments last year that I'm hoping are a sign he is ascending.

Never said he wasn't good or I didn't like him. That lack of a juke stick is what drove me crazy. He does a great job of getting up field right away. If he does a better job of making a man or two miss he could be special.

I think you bring up fair points. But he was so understaffed on offense. The roster we put on the field on both sides of the ball was a bottom of the NFL barrel. And I’m not all that impressed with Mariota (I think he’s a good backup QB, but some think he could be an NFL starter…)

The games Jayden came back he didn’t look like Jayden. Not based on playcalling, but because he looked injured and unconfident.

I have a hard time pinning the on field result last year on Whitt and Kingsbury.

I think AP failed this team last offseason (and it appears he’s learned this offseason). But a Kliff’s offense and the scheme gets guys open and allows for plays to be made - but we had no playmakers.

Our running back couldn’t block and wasn’t a real threat to catch, so anytime he’s back there the other team knows it can load the box. This is where the love for Bill puzzles me. He put us in a corner. And I do think he is going to get better. But he was a 7th rounder. We need to let him grow.

We had no healthy receivers, and McLaurin looked awful for most of the season. He just didn’t have the same burst and contested catch ability. And our most reliable guy, Ertz, tore his ACL.

When we do the same things, when Kliff hasn’t always done that, it tells you the personnel isn’t executing.

Football plays absolutely are designed to open a specific receiver, but the guy getting the ball is dictated by coverage and separation. Those three (Deebo, Terry and Ertz) got all the targets because they were the ones getting open.

White alone changes a lot of that because he can pass protect and catch. He is very mediocre as a rusher. Very. But he can run. So with him in the backfield it changes the rhythm.

Love will do that x3 if we are lucky enough to get him.

This current offensive group with Kliff looks much better than what we put onto the field.

I love the idea of using more PA and motion. Kliff isn’t my hero. I think he’s a good, quality OC. There are things he does that I’d take. There are things he does that I’d change. Lack of motions and manipulating personnel groupings and utilizing PA being in the forefront.

But he didn’t have the personnel to get creative. A lot of our receivers belong in the UFL.

I am still concerned with receivers, but I’m not sure we need world beaters as long as Chig, Terry and White are around and can add either Love or Tate.

But the spots that I am extremely concerned with are C and LG. Our OL is under talked about. This is why Tunsil was such a big deal for me. But I thought we’d still have Biadasz.

Our rushing offense is actually probably worse than last year. But our passing offense looks much better already. But we need receivers that can create room and can reliably run routes. We add even one of those and we can do more with other receivers because they are open and available.

For the record… I hate that we “played to win” against Philly. We should have played all of our young guys, including Sinnott, Hartman, etc. if we win with them… fine.

Winning with Josh Johnson could be what makes us miss Love. And that, to me, is egregious.

I haven’t studied him extensively - but no. He wasn’t that bad. It almost had to be that they think Allegretti is about the same for a fraction of the cost. I’m not sure I agree. But we’ll see.

I hear he is a bit quiet. Centers usually need to be more vocal.

But it’s a really curious move.

I maintain the argument i've had all along, that this is going to be a drawn out process that takes multiple years to correct. This roster already is exponentially better than it was before free agency. That's not to say that we're anywhere set, or good enough up and down the depth chart, but it is improved.

I do however feel very underwhelmed regarding this position group, because as Boone has stated many times, Peters vocally said the best thing he can do is put playmakers around Jayden to protect him, and WR was clearly an opportunity to get the absolute biggest return on your investment. Of course I've argued to be patient, and there's circumstances with Pierce who got overpaid to stay where he always was going to stay, and others, but this will continue to be something to monitor in the WR room. As it stand with these two signings, the depth tier in the WR is getting very crowded so someone is either going to have separate themselves, or we're not done yet. If we go into this season with largely this WR, my confidence will not be very high, and we're banking a lot on Aiyuk. Not saying i'm mad at Peters, blame him or anything because like i said, there are so many factors, to upgrade everything in a single off season is reaching. Just looking forward, we're going to need to continue to address long term talent at that position.

It's been my button with Peters. That is, putting the offense on Jayden's back. It's the opposite of what the other teams who drafted QBs in 2024 have done. I'll say this for example if Peters thought like Ryan Poles did of the Bears, we'd already know he's taking Love or Tate at 7. No chance with a supporting cast like this would Poles not take an offensive player.

Poles the same guy who already had Moore as a #1 WR, and Kmet as a young TE, and his defense was meh. Yet in year 1, he takes Odunze in round 1. Signs Keenan Allen. Signs another TE in Everett. The year after you'd think he'd move on to other spots. But nope, he doubles down. Adds a young TE in the first round, so they got two of them. And they go for a third WR in Burden in the 2nd round. And beat Washington to depth players by signing Zaccheus. Then they hire arguably a top 3 playcaller as a HC and build the O line, too.

The Pats also chasing supporting cast players. Beat Washington to Doubs and now are trying to trade for AJ Browns. The Vikings have 2 stud WRs. The Falcons have Bijan and Pitts and Drake London

It's all hands on deck for these teams to have their QBs shine.

But I'll give Peters that he did chase Pierce and Doubs. there have been effort. In 2025, it felt like he thought Jayden can deal with a lackluster WR corp because Jayden succeed with a meh one in 2024. And I know i likely will have the same 3 people give or take pushback on me on this point because Deebo, Deebo, Deebo. Deebo as a gadget WR is fine. But he alone didn't offset the WR corp. they had a starting Z WR who would be the 5th WR on most teams and can never stay healthy -- with the most pathetic depth at that spot that was one of the worst I've ever seen following this sport.

So fast forward to now. I think we are back to the 2024 meh corp so that is an improvement. It's still one of the weakest WR crops in the league. But at least the depth isn't pathetic. So that is a change.

And I am not saying they got to take Love or Tate. But if this team felt the same about supporting their young franchise QB as some of the other teams do -- that's what they would do. I got no doubt that Ryan Poles if this is what his WR corp would look like in Chicago, he'd probablly go Love or Tate at 7 and then another WR in the third.

It's been Keim's thought on his podcast talking to some on the team - he's strongly hinting, Biadaz isn't a leader, isn't vocal, doesn't take charge and might not be hot calling protections. So its the not blocking aspect of the job.
