Among other things, I hate swinging so low to help the franchise QBs with an ifs and buts solution -- when other teams that draft QBs have taken the opposite approach and are trying to load up their young QBs for success versus hanging on ifs and buts and hope.

Not saying they will do this again in 2026. But to me it would be cringe if they do it.

Definitely need to get Jayden help but I do expect Aiyuk, probably another receiver, and someone in the draft. It will look better but I feel like if we have Okonkwo, Aiyuk, and amber receiver, then Bill is capable of being the lead back. That's my only point.

This is the only thing that I keep trying to say. Not that we don't need any weapons. We do. However, I and I believe the team is comfortable with Bill being the lead guy in the back field and that's not saying that they wouldn't take Love either m

There are some veteran receivers available that can help us in 2026 for reasonable dollars but you are not going to find a down the field 4.39 type guy just sitting beside the road looking to get picked up.

It would make the most sense at this point to get a younger WR either via trade or at the top of the draft order to grow with Daniels over time.

What no one seems to be mentioning here is that Terry McLaurin is still the #1 wide receiver and set to make nice coin in 2026, so in my mind HIS health and mindset going into the season is even MORE important than anything Aiyuk could bring to the table at this point.

And do I think Aiyuk misses a year and a half and just comes in here and delivers a 1,000 yard season with 7-8 touchdowns?

No. With all due respect, I don't see him so far being another HOF talent like Adrian Peterson recovering from a serious injury and coming back EARLY and then rushing for 2,000 yards.

The only deep threat left is Hill witch is a major gamble in a number of ways

Right, I think the veterans available profile more as #3 type receivers that can come in and be reliable pass catchers and chain movers.

You are not going to find a gamebreaker at this point.

That's why I either make a trade for a younger veteran like a Thomas that was a #1 pick and has shown he can play or take Tate at #7 or move down and get a value pick WR in the 20's or in Round 2.

Hill is a headache.... full stop

BUT, if we are actually good this year, the juice might be worth the squeeze, but it's super risky

We don’t need Aiyuk to come in and produce a 1,000 yard season. We need a really solid number two, or number 3, that can play outside and step in if one of our outside guys is hurt.

I’m going to be pissed if Peter’s lets Jennings go to the Giants

I hear you. We obviously don't know what they think about the backs aside from not being in love with Rodriguez.

I spent as much time as JCM as anyone here, I slaved through watching his New Mexico games among other things. I more than anyone on draft day 3, kept saying draft that dude. Still, I'd be shocked if he ends up a special back. I like him a lot as a #2.

Lets say they do think their 7th round rookie is special and will be great. My trust in this staff evaluating that stuff is at a 0. All the other sort of outlier takes they had about players on offense in 2025 ended up wrong. So why would I trust them on their outlier thought du jour -- assuming that's how they think?

I don’t want this to sound more negative than it is because I like McCaffrey and he did show more promise than Ben Sinnott in year two. But we have to admit that is not saying much. He has a career average of barely over 1 catch per game (and that was true in 2025 as well as his rookie year). He is a good return man but his impact at WR has been next to nothing.

For me it would feel soooooo 2025. And so the reverse of the Bears-Pats and all the 2024 QB drafted teams. JD5, IMO would double down on the feeling on how the poor soul got drafted here instead of greener pastures elsewhere.

People actually think Hill will play next season? Wasn't his leg facing the wrong direction? His knee joint needs to be completely rebuilt.

Jennings is a jag wr2/ 2B really... he is like a healthy Noah Brown. Above average at everything.. great at nothing. We already have a possession WR in Terry. We need speed and quickness.

With our WR room he is a warm body and would help .. but only because we are so lacking at WR. I'd rather wait on Ayuik and then draft one high.

I like Jennings especially in the run game. He is a vicious blocker. But I tend to agree with you. I would actually prefer Tyreek Hill or Darnell Mooney over him.

My take is its possible he can take another step. But....

I like what they've done on defense because they are leaving nothing to chance. They aren't relying on Armstrong coming back from injury. They aren't counting on MaGee coming through. They aren't purely banking on Quan Martin bouncing back from a bad season. They aren't counting on street free agents for depth. This mindset is a sea change. And a needed one. If they get lucky with bounceback season or injuries healing fast, etc -- its a bonus.

On offense right now. The O line on paper looks weaker. The WR corp looks weaker. The RB corp looks weaker. And I am not going to stew about it because there is time for all of that to change. But no way I am going to embrace them doubling down on offense with the same approach of 2025 which is an if and buts were candy and nuts drill. Jayden deserves better than that IMO. The other 2024 draft QBs are given the equivalent of champagne and cavier and Jayden is making due with Tang.

We cannot go into the season on hope that Bill, Luke and Jaylin are going to step up. Nothing that has happened so far has indicated that is a good plan.

It doesn’t mean they can’t.

But I wouldn’t bet my job on it… would you?
