Maybe. But there’s no reason that has to be the case if you can get a Chig and a Goedurt. Bates OT3, Goedurt well-rounded guy who is also almost an extra OT, Chig move TE/jumbo slot
In that case I don’t really care about Yankoff. Sinnott is on thin ice but can keep developing and play some FB
i'm not tied to sinnott or yankoff. I'm just making a prediction. chig is young enough so I would, personally, be fine with letting one of the developmental guys go. I would think yankoff could make it to the practice squad again.
Picking up a legit WR2 now would really open up the draft to BPA for us. Felt Love might be a bit of a luxury puck before but right now I would take him in a heartbeat....though I doubt he makes it to 7.
I feel exonerated about expressing my optimism about this team's ability to recruit.
I have a new theory.
The reason that we haven't signed a wide receiver is because Pierce was the best of the bunch and he wasn't a clear diamond. Peters certainly was in on the auction for Pierce and Daubs, but didn't win it. Maybe that's because he didn't want to pay number one receiver money for someone he didn't believe was a number one.
You save almost 17M by cutting Payne... how much for Hargrave on a 1 yr deal? Obviously, if he's hurt, that's a different story ... also, you aren't signing a guy like that for sacks...
You end up in the same location next year and spent less.
