The 2026 Free Agency Thread

The problem is that Adam Peters in trading away all those draft picks and having what is so far a very underwhelming first draft in 2024, has to go outside his comfort zone and actually spend MORE than what is considered good value in finding talent for this roster.

It's the position he and Quinn and others put the team in. And now they have to acknowledge that and make it work.

I think Woolen is a lot better player than Robertson but that's just me. If you wanted a 100% starter in 2026 for the team it was Watson or Woolen and as we see McVay/Snead and Roseman were all over these guys.

For some reason we weren't in on either of them.

The rich get richer. We take the crumbs and think we are the smart ones.

So, the flip side to the free agent frustration is that if we sign free agents to start then there is no room for the rookies to ascend. The question is are they ready? We have too little evidence in the pro column.

Alright going into Season 3 of the Peters regime and I count 4 full time starters I feel good about.

Daniels, Tunsil, Conerly, and Amos.

You can add Oweh in there now. Sainristil and Newton ranked near the bottom of their respective position groups as starters. Time to make some real progress.

Wagner, Ekeler, and Ertz were great as vet placeholders. Lattimore was a costly miss. Kinlaw not listed is a decent enough starter in the middle. I’m ok with that signing. But yeah…cupboard is pretty bare so far. So many holes to fill and so little time.
 
Newton to me has not shown himself to be an NFL starter.

At least Sainristil has been on the field for 2 years and looked solid for a pretty good stretch at the start.

Watching Newton get trucked by centers and guards inside against the run was a whole lot of fun :rolleyes:
 
Woof..this has probably already been addressed at some point here but never realized John Schneider was with us in 2001. Hell of a job he’s done in Seattle.

Thank goodness, FINALLY movement with Chenal signing.

ILB too, that's nice. It's not going to help Jayden avoid turning into Patrick Ramsey, but it's also not nothing. We're 1 safety away from a maybe competent defensive unit.
