What your describing is drafting for need but you've overlooked the fact that we have gaping holes almost everywhere.

We can draft bpa and for need at the same time.

I don't blame people for thinking Maye is better than Jayden. I get it both his durability beat Jayden, his big year last year was better than Jayden's best year and he got even further in the playoffs.

Perception wise its Maye hands down over Jayden right now.

Personally, I think it will change again in favor of Jayden after the 2025 season but until then Maye is seen as the more attractive QB to bet on.

Honestly I’d pick the Maye/Vrabel combo over Jayden/Quinn too solely due to the fact I don’t believe in Quinn and we have a brand new OC who we are taking a chance on.

True but we don't know of a signing where the money was equal for a bidding with NY. Also Harbaugh isn't lame duck.

Hence my point about needing to overpay to get guys. Doubs illustrates this: the money was similar and he picked Maye/Vrabel over Daniels/Quinn. Likely wanted to come here, Harbaugh just paid more and got his guy. On Pierce we offered more and still got declined. It is what it is... AP wants to be disciplined but franchise-wise we are still in the Need to Overpay tier.

That 35% winning percentage for the Pats opponents was fools gold. They're good, but not anywhere near the top of the league IMO.

With the emphasis on adding pass catchers, I’m willing to bet they rate wide receiver as one of our largest needs.

Trust me, I haven’t overlooked much with this roster. Been debating people all offseason. Including telling people Blough/Quinn was going to make this a tough destination.

I’ve been met with a lot of resistance and I am still hoping I’m wrong. Lots of time still.

But I can see us forcing a receiver. And I don’t love the idea. But until it happens I can’t worry too much about it.

A right now VERY secure Vrabel with seasoned coordinators vs. Quinn on the hot seat with an OC who was an assistant QB coach 6 months ago.

That matters.

They might have to overpay. Jayden doesn't have the same buzz that he did in 2025. Quinn feels like a lame duck. There isn't any cool aura around this team.

Then we should overpay and not think twice about it.

If you get no one good, you'll be bad and everyone gets fired.

If you overpay for good players, at least you have the chance to be good. Maybe it doesn't work out and everyone is fired anyway.
