I think I’d feel more confident in the role I project for Jennings in this mystery offense, but if he avoids concussions Doubs is probably the more talented guy with the untapped upside. So my heart says Jennings bc I’ve been a fan of his forever and wanted him before they tendered him in the past. But Doubs is probably the guy who could become more than he currently IS with Jayden throwing the ball. If that makes sense. He could outplay his contract easier than Jennings, even though I’m more confident in what Jennings currently is

Yeah, that wasn't what I was looking at when I made the statement though. He did in fact have 15 catches in 9 games in Seattle.

He'd likely play a different role somewhere else.

I'd rather have had Shaheed than Pierce though. I just didn't ever see it happening because AP needs to validate his picks. It would look really bad if Shaheed came in and took away any reason for his last 2 years 3rd and 4th round picks, which Shaheed would likely do.

I'm sorry but there is no merit on Peters doing things to hinder the team in order to justify his own moves. He's worked 100% in the opposite direction, all the way up to cutting Biadasz, a guy he signed to a multi year deal, and all the way back to signing Damiere Byrd, only to cut him before camp officially broke... He's NEVER done anything with the roster to favor 'his guys' despite them not deserving it.

Somebody want to tear AP away from his online solitaire game and remind him of that. And yes, im aware that's its only the first day. But much like the draft, when a run starts you either jump in rhe kitchen and cook or deal with leftovers.

That's my biggest issue with signing Doubs and rather have Jennings.

We offered more money for Pierce... he declined and stayed in Indy.
We inquired about Likely but he decided to follow his former HC to NYG

and thats just whats been reported... the only real run has been on RB

Guys are still out there. Okonkwo at TE still there. White at RB. Jennings and Doubs at WR.

Once those guys go then I will be concerned, but not there yet.

I personally like Jennings more, I guess what I meant was that I could see Doubs making me “wrong” due to his potential upside. But his concussions do worry me.

But I can’t ignore the siren song of those 3 extra years of potential prime with Jayden.

Jennings is a better blocker and better after the catch, and I know what he is. When healthy, I feel confident I know exactly what we’re getting, but at the same time I think that means we’re paying for his ceiling. Doubs has a bit of a mystery box ceiling but may also disappoint

Really depends where the bidding gets to, but I think bc we’re almost guaranteed to be the cheap landing spot for Aiyuk once he’s cut, we probably only add one.

I’d add two TE’s though. I’d go nuts for Chig as the jumbo slot/move guy and Goedurt as the extra OL who can still catch/redzone/PA down the seam target. With Bates as the 3rd pure blocker and Sinnott shot out of a cannon into the sun if he can’t play some FB/flex.

We want to go heavy? Play action? Do this.

Don’t see them doing that at all though. They’ll sign one TE and he’ll probably be a less sexy addition, in the end.

Where are the Bruce Allens of yesteryear. Peters will get some decent free agents at a good price and some on the cusp free agents at an excellent price, Would have liked Loyd but did he really fill a need- do not see him in the middle
