I like Shaheed a lot, think he’s been underutilized with poor QB play and then learning on the fly in Seattle. Capable of many more targets than he’s been given and not just a deep threat.

That said, he was behind Jennings and Doubs on my wish list. His special teams prowess is muted here with LMC and Lane already on squad. And as much as I like his receiving skills, he isn’t quite the prototypical outside receiver I’d like us to get that brings physicality and supports the running game.

Love the player, didn’t like the fit so much. Don’t mind missing out so long as we land Jennings or Doubs. Suspect we will.

Sounds like WR carousel to me

Shaheed -- special teams demon, deep threat

Jennings -- tone setting posession WR, best blocker arguably in the league at WR

Doubs -- sort of an all around WR, sound route runner

All IMO comparable players, very different flavors. I've probably pushed Jennings the most, followed by Shaheed -- but Doubs is probably the better player of the three.

Maybe I'm naive, but I feel like AP doesn't play things that way. Just based on how he handled contract negotiations. He had a lot of junk thrown his way by Terry+his agent, and he handled it with as much honor as you could ask, really. So with what I saw there, I would doubt he played games with Downs' draft position. That's the dude's livelihood.
