It's clear to me that BTJs stock has fallen significantly, but rookies with 1300+ yards as a rookie are damn rare. We already know that Daniels would know how to use him... on top of that, I think his draft profile was similar to Tate / Tyson who will likely be picked in that range this year.

I'm cool if folks don't like the idea, I'm just surprised 🤷

I like the Oweh signing but I’d be lying if I didn’t say, what guy are we getting, the 1 who had no sacks in Bmore then after the trade to the Bolts had 7… but being a huge PSU fan I’m glad we got a Nittany Lion on the roster… as far as Amik Robertson move… not a huge fan of this… from some lions games I watched he isn’t anyone to write home about… personally speaking way to much for the caliber of player he is…

Think at this point we can surmise, Pierce and Phillips were their top two targets. When they missed or got priced out, they moved on to second option at Edge, Oweh. Figure we will see plan B at WR soon.

Same might be true with Likely at TE. Seems we were in, but only to a point. This aligns with Kiem’s thoughts. Will be interesting to see who they pivot to. Have to assume it’s Chig for the time being.

I don’t know much about Robertson. Seems pretty meh. Daronte Jones should be very familiar with him though being in the division though. Will see. Wanted to aim higher at corner.

On Robertson, again, his PFF scores were perfect fine in 2023 and 2024. Mid 60s. Down year last year but Kelvin Sheppard was also a first year DC

The 62.5 grade for run defense is 20 points higher than Robertson gets in pass coverage, so I think he is OK there on first down if he needs to play there

Yes my fear… and I wonder just how much of the 7 sacks was it being his walk season… kinda like the situation we were in a few seasons ago with Payne.. never ceases to amaze me how these players ball out on their walk years… then capitalize and become a couch potato

Ravens didn't trade him to the Chargers for much. Think they got Gillman (a meh level starting safety) and a 5th back.

He had 10 sacks in 24 with Baltimore. Struggled early last year. But they werent using him correctly either. As soon as he got to LA and Jesse Minter got a hold of him he blew up. Why I was wondering if the Ravens would be in hard for him. And they may have been for all we know. Except they went and gave up 2 first rounders for Crosby.

Even if his profile was similar, you’ve lost out on half his rookie contract and by trading a premium asset for him, you’re betting everything that you understand and can utilize this player better than the franchise who was most incentivized to maximize him. That you can squeeze more value out of him than an offensive HC who essentially fixed their broken QB and got production out of guys like Parker Washington. That’s quite a belief.

The value on that proposed trade essentially means that the Jags have gained value rostering him the last couple years, as his reputation and production have fallen since his rookie year. Dropping from 7 to the 2nd and gaining a 3rd is worth a massive haul, way more than the 23rd overall pick they used on BTJ two offseason ago. BTJ is not worth more now than he was then. That would be a crazy overpay for a guy who didn’t look like an alpha WR1 the last time we saw him play (for a playcaller I expect is better than ours). And again, missing out on two years of a rookie deal
