This is frankly the one that irks me the most. I really thought he was an ideal replacement for Wagner. Not super expensive, seems like the exact guy you want on a team that's heading upward or aiming for that. On top of all of those feelings, he goes to NYG of all places. 🤮

I don't disagree. They tried to overpay for Pierce and got turned down so not like they're unwilling. But they got outbid for other guys like Phillips, and while no one deal is a must-have, you gotta walk away with something on the upper end. Will see if it happens

Agree. Also let's remember the only reason we had a hole at center was because we cut our starter without a firm solution in front of us.

Center is a position I don't want to have to spend megabucks for or use a #1 pick on, one reason to keep a guy that has shown himself to be solid unless he is injured or is aging and perhaps has lost the fire, etc.

I often wonder if the whole point of the salary cap is propaganda for cheap teams and owners so their fans will debate the merits of it endlessly and not give up and dump season tickets and the two dozen networks you now need to watch the games.

The main point of the salary cap is for the rich to get richer.
Competitive balance... OK, it's a nice story - it's always great to have a nice story that aligns.

We can say signed a cornerback but at this point I can't even say with confidence we have signed a starter.

So, if that is the signature OUTSIDE move we made in real free agency in Day 1, we must be one of the teams that is listed so far as a loser in the early period.

Doesn't Robertson look to you like a lower to mid-tier signing that could have been had a couple of days from now after all the sure fire starters have been signed?

Blocking TE’s always get puzzling contracts in FA. He was BAL’s TE3 (except when there were frequently injuries) his whole career and cashed in. Good for him
