As we miss out on high $ targets like Pierce, and to an extent Linderbaum, it ought to increase willingness to pay for remaining high $ targets.

That is to say, they may not have wanted or planned to overspend on Trey Hendrickson heading into FA, but we can't sign a bunch of Tier 2 guys and declare victory because we got good value. At a certain point, it becomes incumbent to spend on a top-end player at a position of need. Not saying Hendrickson is the end-all be-all, but they gotta get SOMEONE in that big $ range.

So, it looks like the DL will feature Payne, Kinlaw and we will bring back Wise and Martin to be on the outside.

No doubt the uber talent of Johnny Newton has prevented Washington from even considering upgrading this unit.

Steelers agreed to terms with CB Jamel Dean, formerly of the Buccaneers, to a three-year, $36.75 million contract.
Dean continued to play well for the Buccaneers in 2025, earning a PFF coverage grade of 75.9 while allowing just 25 receptions for 311 yards and one touchdown in 14 games. Dean joins a secondary that recently re-signed Asante Samuel Jr., and still has Joey Porter Jr. under contract for one more season. All three corners have spent most of their career playing on the outside, so it will be interesting to see how the new coaching regime manages what looks to be a solid secondary.

He's a good player and this is a good price but the guy is a part time player. He is always on the injured list with something. Something very frustrating for Bucs fans

Armstrong will be back too. And our run defense really tanked after he got hurt last year.

Last year all I heard was that we were a favorite destination.....So what's changed??

Well we backslid a ton after appearing in a conference championship, didn’t improve the roster, fired both our coordinators and hired inexperienced replacements, promoted position coaches internally almost exclusively because Quinn’s seat is judged to be warm from most exterior viewpoints…but yeah other than that nothing different from last offseason when we appeared to be ascending and then fumbled it (for many reasons, some in our control and some not)

They had the worst OL in the league due to injuries. Zion is a former first round pick. Thought he was a good player but I may be wrong
