The 2026 Free Agency Thread

Falcons eye Tua Tagovailoa after Dolphins cut QB, sources say

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- The Atlanta Falcons are expected to pursue Tua Tagovailoa in free agency, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter, after the quarterback was informed Monday that he will be released by the Miami Dolphins.

The Falcons enter the offseason in the market for a quarterback, with Michael Penix Jr. recovering from a knee injury and Kirk Cousins set to be released before the start of the new league year Wednesday.

It's a mystery, ain't it lol

Spirit of the tampering cap or something like that.

That was all because they hated Snyder, which pissed me off at the time.... but also, I get the hating Snyder part 🤷‍♂️

Worst case scenario for us of course.

Keeps love in play for 5 of the 6 teams ahead of us in the draft and takes the best possible upgrade in free agency off the board for us.
But it keeps the Chiefs from trading up over us for Love. I cant see Love going before we pick at 7. KC was my biggest worry about that in all honesty.

I'll say it again. Would you pick the 'Commanders' over the Chiefs everything else being relatively equal?

No. You wouldn't. That's part of our challenge - we are not an especially desireable destination.

My money is we get Doubs at WR, seems like the best WR who won't be exorbitantly expensive
Could see us bidding on Evans and wasting time as the Bucs then simply match.

Many don’t want to hear this. But it’s true for the time being.

With all of that cap room extending over 2 offseasons you mean we are the one team other than the Bills that is still comparison shopping on the value bin aisle? Tell me it ain't so.

It's not like they didn't have a chance to outbit the Chiefs, so apparently they didn't want him that bad.

Is there any doubt that Daniel Jones is in league with the devil?

It's been 30 minutes and I'm already spiraling. Every comment from the team sounds like it's softening the fans on Ertz, Wagner, and their like coming back because even though they can only jog now, they're the only people with brains that aren't wildly outside our 3rd most cap space in the NFL budget.

I know we can probably look forward to a single offensive lineman and that WR who gets concussions, but I am genuinely scared that the team is going to double down on "they have upsides" bargain bin hires so they can prep for next offseason when they're REALLY use that cap space.

Jets resigned Hall so they aren't going to pick Love. Downs either probably after their trade today

Chiefs are letting a lot of guys go. I don't know what their 2026 season is going to look like.

So one trend we are seeing is that instead of most really top tier players not making it to free agency, we see many of them getting to free agency and using it as leverage to then re-sign with their current team.

That's what I meant by 5 of the 6 but since the raiders are obviously going with Mendoza you're right it should be 4 of the 5.
