I don’t actually think that’s true. Yeah, the Seahawks won this years SB, and they had a great defense, but they were also a top 5 offense.

And if you go back across the last several SBs, offensive teams have won most of them.

The Eagles and Seahawks were both stout defensively, but they also both had outstanding offenses in the year they won the SB.

It’s still an offensive league. And good offense will still beat good defense.

The SB was a mess because the patriots didn’t have a good offense at all.

Sam Darnold’s stats in the Super Bowl and postseason overall showed that the defense took a lot of pressure off and allowed him to avoid the mistakes he made in the past.

He also got a career performance from Walker on the ground.

Seahawks performance in SB reminded me a bit of Washington’s first Super Bowl under Gibbs.

Defense didn’t allow much to opponent, running back dominated and was MVP, quarterback was the conductor and made the plays he was supposed to make.

That was true 20 years ago. The Patriots after 2007 were an offensive team, the chiefs are an offensive team, the Rams are an offensive team and the Bucs when they won with Brady were an offensive team.

You can’t win with a trash defense. But you can win with an excellent offense and above average defense.

That has not always been the case but it has for about the past 15-20 years. There are the odd exceptions, like the year the Broncos won the SB and Peyton couldn’t throw the ball 15 yards. Seahawks kidof, but they could score points in bunches. Eagles, but they had Barkley and in their SB year an almost unstoppable running game.

Which is why I think they won’t have to settle for Ertz unless there is an injury in camp.

Somehow I feel like Edmunds would have us hearkening to past great picks by classic Redskins regimes. I don't know, he is giving that vibe to me. I remember when the Skins got Wilbur Marshall. Obviously he was added to a defense that had plenty of talent, but he was still able to make it measurably better. Measurable improvement would be easier for Edmunds. Maybe I missed it but I haven't seen as much excitement from others here as with other players, I am unclear on why; I have seen it posted a couple of times but saw nary a response (again, maybe I missed it, been super busy recently).

Cam Jordan released too. He is 36 but was awesome for the Saints last year. He’d give us our other starting 3-4 DE. An odd front DL with Payne, Kinlaw, Jordan, Wise, Newton and Tuttle/another 1 gap NT type is a solid DL grouo

Listened to Logan Paulsen on the TE's.

A. Does think the idea of running it back including with Ertz is crazy. Thinks this offense is a better fit for Sinnott. assuming its a Ben Johnson style

B. Loves Okonokwo (as do I), baller, speed, blocks with everything he's got. Thinks he will get a big bag though, says its obvious when you watch him. I agree

C. Liked but didn't love Likely. Not much burst, meh as a blocker

D. Dulich could be an underrated signing. Also Austin Hooper who he thinks has something left

E. Nojoko -- more of a blocking TE in the Browns offense, now, ok with him but not excited

F. Otton -- thought was ok, not blown away by him, decent blocker, but just ok in the passing game

I’m not sure how often we will use a true 0-tech. Having one wouldn’t hurt, could play heavy shade or 1-tech. But I don’t know that we’re going to use a ton of true 0 looks

I think if Jayden was a well established 5 year pro with 3 years of consistent production, I’d lean into defense more. I think everybody just wants to protect who is by far the most important investment in the franchise. We are not as worried about being a little more mediocre this year, if it helps Jayden develop and makes us more likely to win more super bowls in the future

My main criticism of Peters has been of the current GMs in the NFL no one IMO has done less as to giving weapons to help his young QB succeed. If that doesn't change I am out on him.

When you got Jayden's mom and Jayden's BFF liking posts that criticize the weapons this team has -- you know it likely is bothering Jayden.

Because of bad coaching in Chicago in 2024, it was in vogue to say Jayden was the lucky one among the 2024 QBs as to where he landed. But now after two seasons, its clear that Jayden for now is the unlucky one.

Much better to be a Chicago Bear if you want to succeed as a QB than a Washington Commander. By a mile. If you look at all they did to help Caleb versus this team. Caleb might have wondered in 2024, but in 2025 I am sure he smiled that he ended up a Bear and not a Commander. To some extent Maye and Nix could say the same. Ditto McCarthy in spite of his struggles.

This team along with the Bears, Jets, Browns, were considered for decades the team you don't want to go to if you are QB. QBs go to those teams to die. The Bears clearly clawed out of it.

Peters doubled down on Washington being a crappy place for a QB to go. The Bears went over the top to load up Caleb. Heck even with their current roster, I'd bet in this draft the Bears would go for Love or Tate if they were picking 7. If there is a weapon they can add for Caleb they are all over it. They get that turning Caleb into a franchise QB is everything to their future. Peters acts like Jayden is already a franchise QB, so lets see if he can elevate everyone else. It sort of worked with a mediocre supporting cast in 2024 - but weakening that cast instead of trying to improve it clearly didn't help Jayden's progression to say the least.

Do I think he realizes his mistakes and that's about to change? Yes. So lol I expect my anger on this to subside soon. But will see.
