So word at the Combine according to Finlay is Minn is blowing up their defense. They're like $51 over cap. Should be lots of options for D. Jones

I don't think we have the draft bullets to be in this trade, as I suspect Minny is expecting at a minimum a early 2nd. But he would be a very nice addition!

Call it a response to trauma, but I'm not happy that Deebo is expected to go. I know he was supposed to be for Kingsbury's use, but Deebo was also the only receiver who both wasn't horrible and also available for more than half the season.

I love Leremy and he definitely deserves his bag but I also hope that he isn't using the McLaurin situation last year to full blow rake us over the coals

I don’t see how he really could. He deserves the new highest AAV OT deal with large guarantees, or close to it. Peters knew that when he traded premium picks for him. He’s going to get PAID, but I doubt he’s going to fight to reset the market by 120% or something.

It would be an interesting Keim versus Standig source battle. Keim thinks if he hits the market they chase him. Standig doesn't think so.

-Looking for more athletic offensive lineman (letting Paul walk but could be back if he doesn't get what he wants)

-Ertz only in emergency maybe later in season

-50/50 on Wagner, not sure of fit but maybe situational guy
-Mariota is a good chance to come back
-No Ekler
-CRod makes sense to come back
-D Wise he could see him back for depth
-Sees Burks coming back for depth (6th rotational) but will get another WR or 2
-Drake Jackson maybe 1 yr deal

Most of the players mentioned as wanting back were the expected ones. Hopefully they get a few of them they really want signed before the 9th.

Hoping Mariota is back quickly, am assuming he will dip his toes in the FAA market first

I agree with your points except the one about competition no matter who you bring in.
For example if we did bring in someone like linderbaum, hes automatically the starter, kind of like how tunsil didn't have to compete with Coleman for left tackle and that applies all the way down to bringing in someone who wouldn't excite me in any way.

This is what I fear, until the day we released biadasz he was our unquestioned starter at center and now we have a question mark and I'd like to at least get back to where we were and not have two question marks.

Could be. I guess the combo of them preaching competition no matter what, and then “forcing” Daniels to compete for the starting gig is where I got that from. Don’t recall hearing one way or the other about Tunsil competing or not for the job. So, to your point, maybe it’s just lip service, or maybe in certain cases it becomes ‘token competition’ (“Great 1st rep as a Commander Tunsil! You’ve just won the starting spot”, lol).

This team hasn't won anything and there is no player on this team as there is on the Caps where the ownership or front office may or should feel any sense of sentimentality or responsibility.

This team was 5-12 last season and the 25-30% roster turnover is not only warranted but crucial IMO to rebuild some credibility.

I rarely doubt John Schneider, but wow, this is really surprising! I gave it single-digit likelihood he left there. He should up there with Pierce and Devin Lloyd as our top targets this year.

He is an excellent EDGE. Great production in Houston too. His issue has been injuries.

Given Dallas Turner’s emergence, I had the sense they’d trade one of their veteran EDGEs away. I thought it would be AVG given Turner has shown he can play that hybrid role.

If we had more draft capital, I’d trade for him. However, given our situation, we have to wait for him to get released

The Commanders are more likely to try and sign a guy like Nailor than go after a top level $25-30M player.

It's just how this front office seems to roll even when the club has been among those with the largest pool of cap monies each of the past 2 seasons.

We seem to do most of our damage via trade.

In some ways this team's operation reminds me of the 1970's, as if meaningful free agency really doesn't exist.
