The 2026 Free Agency Thread

Am interested but with the Chargers trading for him, hard to picture them not figuing out how to bring him back but will see.

They didn’t give up much for him. If he doesn’t get franchised by the Chargers, I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes back to the Ravens. They unlocked him

It’s hard to speculate on FA and the draft right now. Surprise releases, franchise tags, etc all need to be ironed out.

Whatever we predict here… is going to change haha

I believe you are downplaying the importance of Etienne's receiving abilities, experience and especially his pass protecting skills. JD needs a RB that's good in pass pro, especially with the heavy pressure D's of today like we saw in the playoffs and SB. Bill and Etienne together is a nice package with CRob.
If you want to say that Bill isn't ready for pass pro then I understand that but I believe receiving is so overstated on this board.

I'm not saying that receiving in itself is overstated but numbers are. They just had more opportunities imo. Hall and Etienne are not Mccaffrey, Faulk, or even Eckler.

They aren't running any complex routes. Its just screens and check downs. The Jets always called screens or had QBs that would check down. Lawrence wasn't far behind.

Jayden even admitted that he could check down more and Kliff seems pre determined that Eckler gets these plays but no one else. I've never seen Bill look bad at receiving in pros or college.

Just not a lot of opportunities and I actually saw him run some real routes in college that I've never seen the other 2 do. I just believe that we are underrating Bill due to Kliff. I could see him producing next season, all around.

I think that he looked better at receiving and ran harder than people remember. Kliff's shotgun and lack of creativity for a 8-10 game stretch made it look worse but I think that he was better than both of those guys last year and can easily catch those same passes or make plays off of them.

Yeah, for me that’s why I tend not to put together FA wishlists until the board is set closer to FA opening

Regarding odafe oweh, if head not available, I’d sign Trey Hendrickson. Per PFF, he graded out far better than any of the other pass rushers in this year’s FA class He also has been super productive over an extended period of time. Much more so than any of the other edge FA’s. We need someone that can generate pressure and get home. Pass rushers usually do not fall off a cliff at age 31, they can play well, well into their 30’s. And I wouldn’t anticipate his core injury will be an issue moving forward.

We don’t even know when Dorance Armstrong will be back, or how he will play when he is back. Also, I didn’t realize Armstrong is only 28.

Weird situation where it feels simultaneously like we all assume (bc it would be crazy otherwise) that AP will get the Tunsil deal done without much drama, while we’re also holding our breath bc the “bounce back” vibe around this whole offseason can’t really proceed until that’s taken care of.

I mentioned this on the draft thread, I wanted to get a look of Chubb so I rewatched the first quarter of his game versius Washington. Tunsil dominated Chubb.

not to sound bad here, but i don't think we're gonna find anybody that can handle Tunsil available walking the street. Those guys don't come available.

Probably not. I didn't know what to take from watching it -- Tunsil that level elite, Chubb is meh, a little of both?

But ironically I watched that and rewatched Bailey versus the Utah tackles back to back because some question Bailey's performance against Utah. And lol maybe watching Chubb's struggles against Tunsil primed me a bit too much for my rewatch of Bailey. Bailey looked like Lawrence Taylor versus Utah compared to Chubb versus Tunsil.

Granted I just watched the first quarter of the Dolphins game. I got too bored to watch any more than that but maybe (though I doubt it) the dynamic changed.

His injury was pretty devastating. So much so that he still has another LCL repair upcoming that hasn’t happened yet.

Yeah it seems like at best he will be ready late next season, and good chance never be that same player he was.

How are people that high on Hendrickson? Seems like another Lattimore to me. Once you start looking washed at an older age, it's hard to see much bounce back. I'd expect 2026 to look closer to 2025 than I would 2023 and 24. I wouldn't spend a lot on him.
