He's worth it, I touted him before the playoff run but yeah the post season alas makes him more expensive probably.

I imagine that $9M number won’t be accurate, but even if he’s $11-12M/per for 3 years (and build in the expectation that he’ll miss some time here and there)…I mean, these 1 year deals we’ve done with vets have been as expensive for less return. Deebo made significantly more for one decent year. We watched Wagner get embarrassed in coverage for a $10M cap hit, and this could be structured smarter for a high impact player who touches the ball a lot. I could see it.

Pittman would be a need too, we don't have that big bodied, possession receiver either, unless Burks tickles ones fancy

Yeah I think that number is just wishful thinking by a Seahawk fan. I could see the bidding going as high as 15 per year. And it would still be worth it. We can afford it.

Etienne > Bill. There are many reasons why he was a first rounder. Looking at just receiving and pass pro alone he is wayyyy better
I’m sorry, have you been drinking?
Bill had a higher ypc this year than Etienne has had in every season except one. He had more TDs this year than every year of Etiennes career except one. He won the rookie of the week award 4 times.

All of this while playing on a far inferior team to the Jags and with Kliff always running out of the gun and mostly straight up the gut with no deception. Idc where someone is drafted. Bill was better in a limited role then Etienne mostly ever has been. Dude can't even make it to 4ypc half the time.

Yes he can pass pro but Bill can get better as a rookie. Bill was also underrated in the pass game and I feel like he could have been used more

He was one of my guys in that draft. I recall some asking me if you had to pick the next Terry (who I liked in that previous draft) type, not b elite level touted WR but underrated, in this draft who would that be?

I said Pittman. And I recall some of it was:

A. Work ethic, character, leader
B. Run blocking
C. And just was a fun watch.

I haven't followed his pro career that closely but from afar he's had a good career, not a burner, but a really good and legit #2. Worse case, you can let Terry go in 2027, have Pittman and sign or draft another dude.
In 202 I really was hoping we'd trade down from pick 2 and end up with Wirfs in the 1st, then Tee Higgins or Pittman followed by Winfield. Pittman was definitely a favorite of mine as well in that draft. He'd be a great add before the draft to match up with Terry!

I’d love Pittman. That would be such a great pickup for us.

Coming from the guy on the third day of the draft kept harping on wanting them to draft Croskey-Merritt, so I like him -- among other things in the modern NFL you can't have your RB1 and RB2, both not being a pass weapon threat.

Etienne isn't a killer RB as a straight up runner but he's a pass weapon, too. That makes him more valuable. There was a reason why Ekeler started the season as the #1 back.

Ekeler can catch and pass block. These days that's 50% of the drill in many offenses. Etienne does it all. Croskey-Merritt does 50% of it.

Pittman is Denzel Boston, no?

If we want to sign Pittman, best do it if possible before FA to try to avoid true cap inflation. Getting him for $20M AAV or under would be pretty good value.

Similar, a little different.

But agree, he's a good get. I am not liking how FA is potentially shaping up for WR.

You can also move on from Terry if need be in 2027 if they had Pittman

Peters got outbid for him, guessing that among otther things will bring a sense oif urgency that didn't exist IMO during last FA.

I think it was more that AP and crew didn't have the balls to go beyond a one year deal for him. My guess is, given the relationship DLaw has with DQ, he would've chosen here if we'd given him the same 3 year deal for similar money

On your last point, technically yes but Pittman is no better than a better than league average WR2. For perspective, I'd rate him no higher than #7 in terms of NFC East receivers and may be #8 depending on moves the Giants make.

If they were to let Terry go, finding a true WR1 becomes a high priority for me.

The scary thing about being so dependent on Terry is that it makes it riskier to sign another gray beard merc. Take the Deebo example. All things being equal, I wouldn't necessarily hate bringing Deebo back even on a "fair" deal, but can you really have two 30 plus receivers as your primary weapons? Can you really have two thirty plus year old receivers and possibly none that Daniels can grow with in 2027? I would hate to have to start the receiver corp from scratch next year. So, we need to inject some high end youth into this receiving corp. That could be a 25-27 year old FA, that could be a draft pick, but we need a player that we hope we can pencil in as a starter for at least 2 or three years.
