At this point of the year, I wouldn't think so.

I mean basically a claim would be so they would control his rights for next year. If he proves a problem or has just lost it you cut him during the offseason. If that's the case, there shouldn't even be any cap hit.

Diggs is not too good for any team, he’s actually pretty bad except for basically one season where in between being bad he caught a lot of INT’s (due to being targeted constantly). In fact the only decent season he’s ever had (that you’re remembering which makes you think he’s good) was under Quinn.

Yes, he’ll probably prefer to sign with a playoff team. Not sure any playoff team would actually want to put him out there on short notice to get shredded by opposing WR’s, though. So he may not get to be picky.

He signed with Green Bay for the rest of the season because they will be a playoff team. We are not going to the playoffs so it made no sense to sign him. He'll be a free agent after the season. I doubt we sign him, but there was never a real chance we would bother to sign him for a meaningless game against Philly.

Obvious, no-brainer extension. Lake is really good and has to cover for Forbes

I guess I am mildly surprised. I didn't realize how valuable Lake was to the Rams. I don't think of his as a top 10 safety and that money put him in that range. If he was going to get that market, I would have guessed it was in free agency where you get absolute top dollar, rather than a contract extension. But I almost admit I never really thought too deep about Lake before.

It’s not so much who this team let go but the fact we did not successfully fill these spots with better or more athletic players.

Jeremy Chinn is not a great player but he’s an NFL starter.

Will Harris on the other hand is an aging player who has largely failed to nail down a starting position in the league. He played corner, he played safety, he was a starter then a backup.

We need to do better in free agency and the draft than Will Harris.

I am glad we did't sign him. He isn't that great and has some baggage that we do not need

You nailed it. Doubt the Rams can afford both Lake and Curl. Kam would be perfect here and is having another really good year.

What’s funny is although Kam has 2 more years experience, he is younger than Lake by a couple months.
