The 2026 Free Agency Thread

Show me a good move and I will applaud it dutifully.
Tunsil.

I don’t understand why more people weren’t worried and I don’t understand why people aren’t amped as hell for this. This is huge.

We need more - Tunsil was with us last season. But we made positive on the trade and that is a pretty good move.

Nice to see Tunsil taken care of. That was fairly painless

we better not spend a lot on Oweh and Mafe. I don't know why everyone wants these pass rushers with basic sack totals

Just kind of wondering where the "Commanders will be aggressive" thing has gone. The Jets have been aggressive. Not us so far.
Maybe we misunderstood and it isn't that the team will aggressively pursue players, it's that they will aggressively slam the phone down if the contract expectations are "overspending" the budget.

They have upside and want to say Oweh had double digit sacks last yr. He's be a good get IMO.

I'm happy it got done, but speaking only for myself, I wasn't worried about it not getting done.

I have been worried that we would whiff on all the better FAs this year and pin our hopes on a bunch of middle tier JAGs. So far, nothing has happened to convince me that this isn't a realistic possibility 🤷‍♂️

Philips signing for 30 Mil a year while only playing 8-9 games probably has several guys trying to renegotiate up big time on deals they are working on right now.

Tunsil was already a Washington asset and since he has another year on his current deal we essentially were negotiating against ourselves.

I want to see additional talent and not just the table scraps left over after the big boys have finished eating.

Still, that wasn't a bad price increase on Tunsil. With the way contracts are going he might get close to 40M a year if he was a FA.

And if he sat it would have been a disaster. Make no mistake, there was high potential he wasn’t out there if this didn’t get done.

Taking it for granted doesn’t make it any less of a great move.

Yes, I had concerns about striking out in FA, too. But getting our LT on the field, guaranteed barring any mitigating circumstance, should not be cast aside. Even if you and others weren’t worried.

It’s a positive step 1.

So much for watching out for the Commanders and Titans in Free Agency! The Titans have signed Mitch Trubisky though, so at least they have got off the couch. Come on Adam, brighten up our Monday please!
