The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

Dallas trades with Miami, move up from 20!

Now picking at 11 + 12

EDIT: this is wrong, broadcast just updated the ticker. They moved up from 12 to 11, for Bain I assume? Or MIA would’ve taken him

Give the Giants credit for going BPA with both picks, not at all what I expected but they got good value and beefed up the trenches. I’m glad it’s not Love, but they played it smart.

Wow, Downs is really slipping for a guy of his talent.

Idk, I thought he’d be perfect for Harbaugh BUT he is a box safety who lives off his brain rather than his athleticism. An odd type of S to go this high, arguably

Very happy with Styles for WAS given the way the top 6 went.
Was worried that NYG would end up with Love and Downs, that would've been a problem. Reese/Mauigoa is much more manageable.

Reese is scary, but we have good tackles. Mauigoa is not a sexy pick, but picking good oline is smart.

But yeah I’m relieved they didn’t get Love.

if the comp is really Brian Urlacher and not a Huey Richardson type tweener than the pick is inspired given he was rated #4 and went at #7.

Now Peters needs to get creative and get Jayden some help at WR.

Measly two 5th round picks to jump the Dolphins and ensure they get their guy

Three Ohio state guys from this draft in our division this year

Styles has never been a tweener, we’ve been trying to tell you for a month. That’s much more a Reese descriptor

Agreed on WR
