As to Styles. It's rare to have arguably both the biggest athletic freak and also the most high off the charts character guy wrapped up in one dude.
I know he isn't a thumper of a tackler, but he gets the job done, 2 missed tackled in insane. to me the one thing about him that no one talks about that impresses the heck out of me from watching LBs over the years are his diving tackles -- they are things of beauty, you see his speed and length on display.

This would be such a great year to have a WTF pick happen in the top-6 (umm hopefully not at 7)
Yes or just one or two of the top OL, or Bain or Tyson
Rivera would be really dangerous in a draft like this -- he'd be itching to do something funky, like taking Thienimann at 7, or if Love fell to 7, trading back and taking his teammate Price instead.

Just keep in mind that AJ Brown still may not be traded or he may be replaced. If NY gets Tyson, we will have Brown, Smith, Nabers, Tyson, Lamb, and Pickles in our division. We also have to play the tandems of Jefferson & Addison, Chase & Higgins, and Puka & Adams.
There is even talk about the Rams drafting receiver. We may need some extra help covering these guys or maybe we need to give Jayden a 2nd WR to match these tandems. Either way, I won't be as happy as others if Tyson is in the division

If styles is there at 6 cowboys may move up with browns.

If only Peters didn't have like 15 corners who could have upgraded that room with all the cap room in the world to sign them.
I get the thought. And again I wouldn't be mad if they took Delane. But, if they did it I'd hope they are uber ambitious after the draft -- Diggs, Jennings, etc. Aiyuk as gravy. Normally I'd trust the FO as to what's next -- but tough for me to do it with a regime that hasn't built a Wr room at least not yet in three off seasons. So I'll believe it when I see it.
I agree CB is a big need. But if they are stuck on the draft as the cure all for the 2 major spots they didn't address in FA then they can just as easily use the 3rd round pick at CB -- Everette, Rivers, M. Muhammad, Igbinosun

7. Washington Commanders: Sonny Styles, LB, Ohio State
Need meets value with this one. Styles has monster potential and the ability to quickly become the green dot for Dan Quinn, with the length and speed that Quinn covets, and the versatility to be a weapon in new coordinator Daronte Jones’s scheme. The Commanders have done a lot of work on the receivers, so that would be another position to consider here. And Love falling this far, if it happens, might make the decision academic. But in this scenario, Styles makes the most sense for everyone involved.
I keep thinking how much McVay would love for Sadiq or Lemon. They could trade back a few picks and still get one of them

I could see this playing out, and I’m okay with Tate, but I would really hate to watch the top RB, Safety, and CB go to division rivals while we reached for a need.
Even though Styles doesn't address WR or CB -- reason why I'd make an exception for him.
A. I want a freak on this roster, some dude that's just unbelievably talented with high upside. Peters seems to value high floor guys over high ceiling. No guts no glory -- ok to shoot high, go try to get a superstar.
B. If i am betting on a high ceiling player with at least some need for development I want a dude who works his ass off and is smart -- that's this guy.
C. He's also a culture setter leader
And I think its a sneaky need on this team. The only true middle linebacker they got is McGee who is still a wildcard. Plus his freakish speed-long arms, etc suits the Double A blitzing scheme that they likely use. He probably instantly becomes their best coverage LB.
"He's a stud," a scout told The Athletic's Jeff Howe. "Big as s--t, fast as s--t, smart as s--t, committed, everything you want—just not a high value position. Ten years from now looking back, you'll be like, 'Wow, what a pick, a five-time All-Pro player who's being compared to (Hall of Famer Luke) Kuechly and those freak linebackers.'"
The B/R NFL Scouting Department ranked Styles as the No. 6 overall prospect on its latest big board and projected him to go No. 7 overall to the Washington Commanders on its latest mock draft, so it's unlikely the star linebacker will be waiting to hear his name called for long.
Styles posted 182 tackles (17 for loss), seven sacks, two forced fumbles, an interception, a fumble recovery and eight passes defensed over the past two seasons alone. He also emerged as a leader for the Buckeyes.
"He's a great kid," an executive told Howe. "He will probably be a CEO when he's done playing. He's incredibly impressive with how he presents himself."

I would hate to see Love in NY. I don't see Tate as a reach.

Just for giggles… I’ve been harping on the fact that we only have four skill guys under contract for next season.
We only have 31 total players under contract. Three guys in void years - Payne, Luvu, Armstrong. Also includes McLaurin on an astronomical hit.
Of the guys we have under contract that includes Medrano and Kaho.
So really 25-26 guys. Thats half of a 53-man roster.

3 guards
2 tackles
1 center
1 running back
1 QB
3 tight ends
2 edge
3 DT
3 CB
2 safeties
4 LB
It really is true we need everything.
It’s almost like the plan is a full reset after this season which… if that was what came to pass I’d be more in line with.
The draft should add six more 2027 bodies… so 31-32

If the Giants take Tyson at 5, that does open up the possibility that Reese or Bailey may actually be available at 7, if Love is gone, which we never rarely considered on here
And still why I wish they had signed at least a couple more of those FA to more than a one year contact.
