I would be disappointed if we take a CB over Downs, Safety looks to have a great deal of value in the Flores style D, moreso than CB and Downs is still a better prospect than Delane or McCoy.

I keep wondering why Delane isn't considered a super blue chip talent? From what I've read, he's super sticky in coverage, has elite speed, good size, and QBs just don't target his guy.
I'd also add losing Ertz is a sneaky issue as far as the red zone-Tds. He was one of Jayden's favorite targets on that front. In 2024, when he pushing clutch TDs, it was Ertz often or even that big play from Crowder.

Judging by the Athletic article about FA where GMs talked off the record, I think Peters work on the defense is being slept on some. But I also think if he rests on his laurels (and I stiill doesn't think he will, I expect changes coming) on the offense, he might start becoming a punch line as by a mile the worst GM among the 2024 rookie QB group as to helping his young QB.
I am not counting on Peters pulllng off upgrades on the offense as a given either. If you recall last year FA was underwhelming at edge, but we figured its a loaded draft at that spot so if course it would be addressed then -- and in the end he didn't take an edge.
He lives and dies with his board, and that's generally good. But for a team in a win now window it can leave some serious holes on the roster that can do them in.
Like I mentiioned i didn't love Quinn's explanation for how the WR room in its current configuration can work. Some defended his comments by saying hey do you want him to slam his current room so it was simply a default answer. It didn't feel like a default answer to me. I've listened enough to Quinn over the years to have a feel for when he rationalizes things. That felt to me like hey if the draft doesn't fall our way on offense, we can make this work.
I think this regime is obviously much better than Ron's -- but they do share that trait in common which is hey this might not look hot to the outer world but this is why I think you guys are wrong -- and they hit their best case scenaro of how it can all unfold in a great way. Howie Roseman conversely feels like his team never has enough at this or that spot. If for example thhier corners sucked -- he's going to town to make that weakness a strength. Even during the season one year when they struggled defending the run up the middle, the two biuggest name DTs left on the market were signed.

I was the one who posted questioning Love's power running just the other day, but since then I've watched more of his games. What stands out to me is that he can really change his running style depending on the situation. If it's short yardage, he does get low and really builds momentum into a defender and is good at making sure to get that two yards or whatever is needed. If you watch the Notre Dame games, even though he splits time a lot with a Price, when they get to the goal line area they were bringing in Love. That's a strong indicator, because Price is a thicker back. I agree with you that Love generally needs a little crease, but in certain situations he hits with authority and I think he'll have no problem short yardage situations.
Agree I think he has enough power, he was also a TD machine at Notre Dame.

I've already talked about a potential trade up for the Commanders if they're infatuated with Love, but a trade down would be the more logical decision for Peters. The Commanders were the league's oldest team on a snap-weighted basis in 2025. They made just five picks a year ago, and only two of those were top-125 selections. Dan Quinn's team also doesn't have its second- and fourth-round picks in this year's draft because of the Laremy Tunsil trade.
There might not be a huge demand to move up in this year's draft, but if one of those aforementioned defensive standouts remains available at No. 7, I wonder if the Ravens might come calling. We saw Baltimore very nearly trade two first-round picks for Maxx Crosby, and though that trade was eventually abandoned for the signing of Trey Hendrickson, general manager Eric DeCosta suggested afterward that the Ravens were interested in trading for Crosby and signing Hendrickson. That possibility certainly hints toward the Ravens pursuing pass-rush help at the top of this draft.
That could be a player such as Bain on the edge or Styles as a dangerous defensive playmaker next to All-Pro linebacker Roquan Smith. The Ravens would give up two third-round picks, which isn't typically the way they operate, but neither was trading a first-round pick for a veteran, let alone two for Crosby.

I don't like the idea of trading down to pick up an extra 3rd and a 5th. The likelihood of getting a starter is pretty low and a superstar ridiculously low. Best case scenario on a trade like this you wind up with a Kerrigan (really good but not great player) and an Antonio Gibson. Worst case scenario, you wind up with a Jahan Dotson and take your pick.
I really wouldn't even consider a trade down scenario that doesn't include two number 1's or a number 1 and a number 2. And I don't care what the value chart says.

First, not his play speed. He doesn't show 4.35 on tape
Second, does not have good size, he's got T-Rex arms
Third, was in zone a fair amount and was targeted in those situations by having two guys enter his area. He plays that situation conservatively, so less risk for the QB. Does not appear to be Delane's fault, probably what he was asked to do, but also why he got so few "targets".
Fourth, age is ok but not a young corner and his last year was his breakout year. Compare that to McCoy who had a dominant season at 19 years old and you get why Delane has some fears of this being his ceiling
Fifth, I don't have all his film, but from what I saw he's not quite as sticky as the hype says. He's fine.
All that said, he's a good prospect. He's a 1st rounder. It would be nice to have him on our team. I think he'll fit the defense. But Blue Chip he ain't.

I really do not think the Commanders are in on Bain, at all, especially with Tate, Delane, and Downs all available in Nick's scenario. I would really be upset if we passed on Tate for Bain.

The haul would be disappointing but, if Love is gone and there isn’t a surprise faller, I don’t know that the prospect at #14 is that much lower than #7

But he can be the next Spencer Long or Cole Turner.
14 is a tough spot. Just looked at the Athletic mock. If its 14, what's left are McCoy, Sadiq, Thieneman. For me then its McCoy. But in that case, I'd try to trade down again because I don't think there is much of a difference with those range of players and the next group
