I low key hate the idea of the Giants adding weapons like Tate. I had been thinking of us as markedly improved with all of the FA additions we made, but even before this draft, I still think the Giants have the more talented roster. It’s really just QB and maybe OL where we are better.

They are definitiely the team with the most bravado coming into the season or so it feels. They've perpetually underachieved. The sentiment reading some of the NY narratives is they had a down period pre Tom Coughlin and then him coupled with Eli brought that team back. And now Harbaugh-Dart are about to do the same. I hope not.
Vegas sees this team and NY as the same. I do think Jayden > Dart hopefully holds as he X factor.

I really expect Tennessee to draft Love. Yes, they've got Tony Pollard, who's run for 1K+ 4 years in a row and has played 15 or more games 7 years in a row - but he's 28 and a FA next year, and they've also got nothing much behind him on the depth chart.
I wonder whether the Midgets will take Tate, or go EDGE. They just signed Mooney, Nabers is back, and Slayton is under contract through next year and consistently averages around 15 ypc.
I also think it's interesting the first Commanders '30' visit scheduled was Lemon.

Very true but if we need a WR going into the draft, we either reach at 7 unless Tate survives or pray for a liked receiver to reach 71. I hate that idea. They would need o trade down from 7 to be in a comfortable slot for a WR.
I don't think most of us would be in favor of a trade down if we pass on Bailey, Reese, Styles, or Love

Charley Casserly lived off of what Beathard had assembled in 1987 and 1988 with the signing of Wilber Marshall and the trade for Jim Lachey.
When he got the opportunity to draft after Gibbs retired it was a mess. Tom Carter. Heath Shuler, etc.
The signing of Dana Stubblefield to a then record contract for a DT was a disaster from the get go.

I wish we had a shot at Bailey. Kdawg has made me a little hesitant about him though. I was 100% in on Chase Young. Thought he was a hall of fame type player, and I dismissed Kdawg’s criticism of his hand use at the time…

How excited would you guys be if we came out of this with Lemon?
At 7? I’d be skeptical. After a trade back where we gain a 2027 1st? I’d be very intrigued. After a trade back where we net a mid-to-late 2nd this year for our trouble? Less skeptical than the first scenario but still not thrilled.
We need blue chip players. I like Lemon a lot but I’m not sure he’s that. And I’m one who likes him better, for the right team, than Tate. I’m not sure we’re that team if we desire to go 12/13 personnel, heavy, PA passing. I expect us to deemphasize the slot, not emphasize it. And we’ll flex Chig there at times, I’d wager. So I just don’t see the fit

Slightly disappointed. Means we missed on a lot of guys. Most likely two of them because we played the Eagles like it was the Super Bowl.
Lemon is a good player though.
If character checks out and we get him we definitely got better with him.

As a player in isolation, very happy.
However, you would have to see the bigger picture in terms of what else came with him. You don’t take him at #7, so the wider trade haul and selections would form the basis of whether it’s a good outcome or not.

Agreed, they had to deal with the beginning of the salary cap in 1994.
Gibbs left behind an ancient roster that was miles over the cap.
