I know Sikema who is their main draft guy has been recently pushing Bailey to Washington, he mentioned it on X and then also took Bailey is a youtube segment for this team when he did a top 10 mock. And Bain didn't go top 10 in that simulation.

To me mock drafts at this stage are still more for fun than for prediction accuracy. I feel like everything gets serious after the combine.

After marinating on this win overnight I am still incredibly frustrated. You have a top 5 pick in your pocket and blow it to beat Philly's backups. Now imo we are forced to make a pick at 7. 200 points off the draft board were wasted yesterday. That is an extra 3rd rounder just thrown in the trash. Sickening.
As far as prospects go we will still get a good player. What irks me the most is the Giants now pick ahead of us. And they will end up taking a player we wanted who will haunt us for a decade. Nothing good came out of yesterdays win.

I get your point, but Wagner played to reach the career 2K tackle plateau. PHI also started Devonta Smith, who was 50 yards away from 1K for the year. He got that in the first quarter then sat the rest of the way.

Again, in a game where an 11 win team sits a good number of starters I don't think you get a clear picture of much in terms of the Washington team.
Johnson is not a young quarterback we are grooming to come back in 2026 for the future. He is a 39 year old likely to retire.
Other players like Miller and Wagner are near the end of their careers and are taking a nice victory lap before heading into retirement and then the HOF.

Well, you learn a few things. One, you don't build the oldest roster in the NFL with veteran additions who have missed a lot of time in the past to injuries.
The fact the organization made it through 2024 with Ekeler and Ertz putting up good numbers was a pure gift given their ages and recent injury history.
Instead of bringing them back with the thought we were just going to run it like 2024, we should have been smart enough to see that we got lucky plugging some holes and made a greater effort to use some of that additional cap space to add better depth.

The main issue derives from Bain’s outlier traits. He is a historical outlier in terms of length, which does limit his ability to win the outside track as a pass rusher and finish plays. His pressure to sack rate is very low, offering little ability to finish plays consistently due to having below average closing speed to boot.
Bain, overall, is a player you want on your football team, but is he a talent you want to draft in the Top 5? Without that high upside as a pass rusher, and inconsistency to finish, Bain feels like a quality player who could be over-drafted, which creates an interesting conversation about value towards the top of the draft.
Having top 3 or so in cap space. Watching teams like the Patriots spend like crazy. And Washington spends the 14th most in FA.
Bram among others loves to say it just looks like they have a ton of cap space because they have to sign so many players. the problem isn't that. You know I have been out on Bain and high on Faulk. It is going to be interesting to watch the pre draft process and see just where those guys end up getting drafted. My gut says Faulk ends up going relatively earl and well before Bain. Projecting his physical traits to the NFL game just makes sense imo. Another edge I am interested in seeing where he ends up is Overton. Possibly the longest guy in the draft. Not quite the athleticism of Faulk. But a nice piece of clay regardless.
Forgot to add Uiagalelei is high on my list as well. He was damn dominate the other night.

It would not surprise me if Faulk went before Bain (that could go either way). And while it would surprise me, it would not shock me for Faulk to go before Bailey as I think the NFL is going to like a prospect who could project as both a pass rusher and run defender.
I'd be stunned if Faulk goes before Bailey. Now, if Bailey has a suprisingly lame combine, maybe.
This season
Bailey: 81 (combined sacks, hits, hurries)
Faulk: 29 (combined sacks, hits, hurries)
In their careers, Bailey with all 10 forced fumbles, Faulk with a whopping 1.
I don't doubt that Faulk might be a fun project and maybe over time kills it. But can this team roll the dice on that? You don't draft a Philip Daniels at 7.
