The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

After what JSN & Egbuka have done this season as guys in that mold, does that change your perception of Lemon any?

It's the ONLY reason when I entertain the idea. Egbuka is bigger than Tyson. JSN is just a little bigger. Often for smaller guys their height is exgerrated precombine -- so wouldn't surprise me if he's 5 '10, 190.

So lets say he's 5 '10, 190, and runs a 4.52 and plays slot. In theory that's yuck for a top half of the first round. Also he struggled in the last 2 games,

But some of the other pesky slot WRs even though taken later in the draft like JSN, St. Brown, McConkey (who was one of my predraft favs) have made a big impact in the NFL.

If they end up picking 8, hard call right now as to who likely is in their range.

But for the moment, I'd guess: Downs, Love, Tyson, Lemon, Bain, Faulk -- maybe Bailey.

I've vacilliated between wanting to win or lose once the season was shot. At this point, I'd rather see them win considering I am gathering Jayden will be back against Philly -- it would be fun to see Jayden leave the season on a high note and be a pesky team to Dallas and Philly.

I really am wanting to draft Downs and load up on WR during FA. I fear that todays win has taken us out of contention for Downs however

I wonder how many will pass on Jermod McCoy because of his ACL injury? The guy was elite before he hurt himself in the offseason.
there are a lot of mocks having him going between 10-15. I wonder just where he'd fall if healthy, must be top 5

Very very rare for a safety to go in the top-10, so maybe not

But it could as they are now tied with us at 4 wins. At this point we are rooting for any team with 4 wins or less to win

In the future maybe, sure. Today it changes nothing, much less a lot.

Shough might be a franchise QB

The one good thing from a draft status is the SOS got better in a bad way which we want -- they will win many tie breakers for that reason.

For me its top 3 -- might be able to trade down in the top 10 and grab a pick for 2027 and 2026 got me jazzed.

But since that's out I don't think it makes a big difference in this draft if you pick top 5 or 5-10.

I think they got a good chance to win another one. if they end up with 5, doing the math I think they likely stay top 10. The teams to root for in that context are: Saints, Cincy, Atlanta. That is, if its staying in the top 10.

If its about climbing back up to pick higher: we want the Browns, Jets, Cardinals to win.

I find the win more impressive than some here. My in laws, wife are Giant fans, I've watched most of their games. They've blown 5 last second leads this year. They've played mostly tough with Dart. Yeah McNichols and Mariota almost gave the game away at the end but they aren't the future. And Mariota has a boneheaded play like that really every game. He can move the ball down the field better than the typical backup but he's a backup for a reason and part of it is his bad decision making and turnovers at the end of games.

Good to see Croskey-Merritt get back to form. Lane is one of the better punt returners in the game. And while McCaffrey wasn't killing it at WR he was improving preinjury and was leading the league for a spell in kick returns. So at a minimum, they might have the best punt returner-kick returners next season. And the defense didn't look like a seive. Gaints offense ranked 15th in yards coming into this game and Dart was mostly playing well.

I understand all of this, and generally 100% agree - but there is always a nagging feeling compounded by my ignorance of the college ranks right now - so counting on guys like you to help educate me!

I am worried we miss out on someone like ST. Man, that guy was just tremendous on every level. Amazing to watch, I don't know if there is a single player I could say who was more electric, ever, on any team. He was insane. If there is a player like that, and someone else gets him... but players like that just don't grow on trees. So, overall, I wouldn't be worried.

It's early in the process and the Senior Bowl, combine, medicals, interviews, etc will ultimately shake things up some.

But currently -- Tate, Tyson, Downs, Bailey, Love, Bain, etc are all over mocks from 4-15.

I started the process in a more serious way a few weeks ago saying I want them to win in part to build up Jayden, show some glimpses of last year, and I diidn't feel that picking 4 or 12 has much of a difference in this draft. This week I backed off of it because they were so close to picking 1-3. But now that we are back here, if Jayden is back I want to see them play well in the next three games. If its Mariota, I won't care.

I am hoping we see Jayden back, they play well, get the other players of the future more involved and keep us in the top 10. While yes it is still early to be sure, it feels like there is a drop off after the top 5 and again after 10 depending on the QB situations

Early granted.

But if feels right now that we got Mendoza and Reese going in the top 3 picks. Moore would be the other if he declares.

Who do you think are slam dunk top 5? That's the thing for me right now that top 10 seems wide open, more so than usual.
