Edge of my seat...unbelievable win

I think I put all my truths in the Norvsferatu thread lol

Truth: It's okay to believe in this team. Being able to move on from your exes is healthy, our ex (Snyder) was toxic. We're in a better relationship now. It's okay to expect their best. They have proven they are worth believing in.

Put the PTSD at the road for garbage pick up.

Truth: Jayden Daniels is 2024 NFL League MVP.

Truth: Dan Quinn is 2024 NFL Coach of the Year.

Truth: Adam Peters is 2024 NFL Executive of the Year.

Truth: Jayden Daniels is 2024 NFL Rookie of the Year.

This is a good football team. Not great yet, but clearly good. We can compete with anyone but don't quite have the high end talent to make a real run.

This time next year if not 2026 at the latest I expect us to be playing for HFA and making a real Lombardi run.

This is a team with enough talent to play with anyone as long as we play "clean" football.

It is also a team lacking in talent just enough that we can make any game hard for ourselves if we don't play "clean" football.

Last night is a great example. If we clean up the penalties, that game is never close. As it was, we got lucky that Atlanta's backup kicker doesn't have the leg to hit one from 56 yards.

On the other hand, it's also a team with enough to overcome a lot. That win against the Saints proved we could overcome a truly crookedly reffed game. That game against the Eagles showed we could overcome five turnovers. That game against the Falcons showed we could overcome shooting ourselves in the foot, emptying the barrel, reloading shooting ourselves in foot again and still stumping to victory.

I really would prefer a laugher, but we overcame a lot of dirt against three playoff/borderline playoff teams in a row even though it felt like the stars kept aligning against us.

Though if I really had to tell the truth, I am super-grateful that the Falcons OC kept taking it out of Bijon's hands and putting it in Penix's. It was like he got caught up in the rookie QB hype and needed his rookie to win. If they kept feeding Bijon, I think we lose.

I don't know about that. It's true he only got half the handoffs in the 2nd half that he did in the 1st. But Robinson averaged 6.3 yds/carry in the first half. You know what he averaged in the 2nd half? 2 stinking yards.

The one thing Joe Whitt Jr. has shown the ability to do all year long is make adjustments. If you go back and look at all of the marquee RBs we have faced this season, you'll see that they generally ran all over us in the 1st half, and in the 2nd half were contained. Some of that is game management decisions, but a lot of it has been the Washington defense shutting it down.

You could see from the very first couple of Robinson attempts in the 2nd half that he wasn't going to have the room or success he did before the half. So I think putting more on Penix was probably smart. And it almost worked.

Biggest issue in it not working, I felt, was a consistent failure to get pressure on Penix. Especially showed up on the TD drive.

I actually don't agree with you. I think this is a very limited/average team with a couple of stars. It just so happens that Jayden Daniels is a phenom and can cover up a lot of other deficiencies. Daniels, Terry, and a couple incredible LBs are carrying this team right now. I do agree with you that the sky is the limit over the next decade, because they will be able to add so much more talent around Daniels over the next several off-seasons.

I am still watching the film on this game but enjoying it all. The key in the NFL is winning 1v1 battles during any given play to have success. Do we need more guys that can consistently win their battles? Absolutely. However, when you can stalemate those moments or not lose as bad, you have a shot. The key for us this year is JD is asked to overcome those indy losses and he has and can do that. He is the epitome of "Just do this and I'll take care of the rest" kinda player and when that guy touches the ball every offensive play...well, your seeing what can happen. The majority of the time in this sport, that is too much for one player. But not him. Our key for the rest of this year, with this group, is to not gameplan for him to do something special. Gameplan for him to be efficient and let him take advantage of overzealous defenses. Damn....he is pretty damn good.

I’m going to play 2 truths and a lie:

- Jayden Daniels might not be the most valuable player in the league, but he is the most valuable player to his team. The Ravens, Bills and Chiefs all have much more around their star QBs than Daniels. Without him, this would be a 6-7 win team.

- Dan Quinn is the best coach in the NFC East

- My little sister could have passed blocked better than Robinson last night.

You pick which is the lie.

I’m not sure it is a good football team - without #5.

The O’line is league average at best. (way too many penalties aside from anything else).

On offense the skill position players are JAGs aside from Terry. Ertz is still a good starter but apart from those two no one else we have would start on a real contender.

On D we have a few pieces but generally we lack elite level talent. Corner is a mess (Davis almost cost us the game yesterday single handed).

I’d say without #5 we are a 5 to 6 win team at best.

But we have #5. And he gives us a chance in every game. Put some real speed and talent around him and upgrade the OT spots and maybe LG and add some more pass rush and actual NFL CB’s and we can compete for Super Bowls with #5.

Next year we have the schedule from hell- NFC north and AFC west- it will be a real interesting year
