I've seen this version plenty of times. I knew what type of game it was going to the minute the defense largely let Green Bay have its way the opening drive and when Washington went three and out. Just bad vibes all around last night.

Getting to 3-1 is almost a must before the Chargers game because I really worry Herbert's going to rip that secondary apart.
 
We weren't denying the 72 Dolphins their champagne this season. The Packers out-coached and out-played us in every facet of the game. They were better prepared, and their roster is better developed than ours (DQ and AP are doing a great job, but they inherited a heaping pile from Chief Folded Arms). We simply stunk last night.

You’ve seen this current team be uncompetitive plenty of times?
 
It’s a week to week league. We are off to a slow start. But last year was kind of the same thing. A little early to start with the ‘I told you guys…’ self-congratulations…

Sometimes you just don’t match up well with a team, or you come in with a gameplan that blows up in your face, or the team is not in synch, or all of the above.

I think Quinn made a major coaching mistake by coming in with such a conservative passive mentality. You have no chance in games like these if you don’t take risks, gamble, and call a very aggressive game. We looked scared and we played scared.

I do think there's validity to the slow start idea.

We played no one in the preseason and bragged about having "short" but intense practices that made sure to give vets time off for recovery. That may still work out, but it's a very difficult way to try to knock off any rust.
 
I’ll skip the dramatic overreaction and go straight to giving credit where credit is due. They did the same thing to Detroit last week and they look like a well oiled machine with a coach who has proven to be a big time winner. With Micah in the fold they may well have the best D in the league now. A true Super Bowl contender they are. This is not the kind of team you should expect to compete with on the road on a short week without bringing your A game. When the other team can constantly pressure only rushing four (and Det couldn’t stop it either) your offense ain’t gonna do much. Easy to criticize the play calling or game plan, but nothings going to work too well in that situation. No way I’m doubting Jayden after what we’ve seen for a year plus from the kid. Tough night for him for sure, yet with all that pressure once again he managed a turnover free performance.

We weren’t going 17-0 anyway so cheer up everyone, the best is yet to come this year!

We talking in the literal sense as in this specific roster, a Dan Quinn-led team, or just in general? I was referring to just in general. If we're talking about just a Dan Quinn-led team, we can look back to the NFC championship.
 
I tried to tell you all that Conerly was an issue last week, this week he was a turnstile. How much longer can DQ stay with a guy who is a huge liability? On so many pass plays it was clear that Jayden was looking for Ertz over the middle, the Pack knew this and took him away. Then the pressure got to Jayden before he could find his second read. Lather, rinse, repeat. Marshawn Lattimore is also a liability who teams will continue to expose. And finally our superstar QB has looked nothing like a star in 2025 so far. I balked at all the talk about a regression but here it is and we can no longer ignore it.

Just so depressing. I was so jazzed for this game but they were never even competitive in it.

I was referencing this iteration of the team, under Quinn. What I meant by this version. The NFCCG was highly impacted by the team’s 4 turnovers. Different from last night.
 
I’m most upset with our local beat guys. It’s like they all drank the kool-aid. Part of what made me so confident about this team was that the local folks have largely glossed over any ideas that Jayden could have a sophomore slump or that the team would regress. They’ve been watching closely all offseason and the reviews have generally been all positive.

I find it hard to believe that this team looks great everywhere but the field on gameday. There’s likely been signs all along that have been missed or well under reported.

To the point it was easy for me to believe that we were simply rusty but so good we could sleepwalk the Giants and still win by two scores.

Last night was always going to be hard, and it got significantly harder when GB traded for Micah. But this team came out flat as a pancake with absolutely no juice on either side of the ball and were outmatched for the entirety of 60 minutes. If Jordan Love wasn’t so mid, they put up 40 on us.

This problem with this assessment is that it's myopic--we don't have that much information on what other teams are doing, do we? If we do, let me know, I'd love to see if there is some correlation. Conversely, Mahomes played in 2 preseason games, threw 14 passes, and didn't play all that well against the Chargers.

Also vent your spleen. I would like to vent how much I hate playing on Thursday nights...and yipee...we have a second one...
 
I also question why Kingsbury played Ekeler so much. We all think of his as the third down back. Kingsbury obviously wanted him to be the lead or co-lead back.

This is probably the best take. I meant to start my post by giving credit to the Pack, that is a really good team and there is no shame in losing to a team playing like that on a short week on the road. But man our glaring issues, Conely and Lattimore for starters, are becoming very clear.
 
Watched till the end of the 3rd.

*Terry was nullified and it was a bad look for him given all the drama about his wanting more money
*IMO, we need to get Chris Rodriguez involved he can wear down defenses with his style
*IMO, Lane needs a path to more touches we need his speed

I found that interesting too--he signed here because he didn't want to be the lead back anymore. It was pretty much everyone's worst game last night.

There isn’t any wearing down of defenses with the rushing attempts Kliff calls.
