Is it just me or does Tom not mentioning the pats seem a little strange?

He did reference all of the players and staff he has worked with. It’s a bit odd but then again, maybe he’s saving all that for his HOF induction. Never got the sense he harbors anything but good feelings about his time with the Patriots.

The lack of mention of anyone or anything to do with New England surprised me ... a lot. Particularly given the long, specific mentions of all things and people Buccaneer. It's a screaming silence.

There will be sound and fury about it out there in Cyberworld.

TB doesn't go into things unprepared. Ever. He knew what he was doing.

Yeah that’s very odd, especially after they not only drafted him but kept the same HC with him for 20 years. Guessing here, but there was probably a lot of unpublicized animosity with Bill and or Kraft.

There’s no way that was accidental.

He mentioned New England when he left there. He was retiring from Tampa.

Is it cheap? Sure, but it isn't really weird. Why would he mention a team that just let him walk away after all he did for them?

Brady threw for 5300 yards and 43 touchdowns...and just said "meh, I'm done"

There are QBs who don't get those kinds of stats multiple years combined and he just decided he was done. It's like Forrest ending his run suddenly.

“I’m kinda tired.

Think I’ll go home now.”

Sounds about right.

I think TB made the simple calculation that they weren't going to win another title in the forseeable future - it was that simple.

I won't be surprised if there is, at some point in the near future, a one-day contract in NE so he can officially retire a Patriot.

Then again, this IS Tom Brady and he has always done things his way so there may not be either.

FYI…Kraft was pissed about not getting mentioned

My wife said this as soon as I told her. She's cool like that :)

This is the first time I can recall having a negative gut reaction to a Brady thing. I know better than to bet against the guy, and I suspect Tampa will be right there at the end again unless he gets hurt, but after 24 hours I can't shake the feeling Brady finally let his ego get in the way of his judgment. He had Won Life and walked away on his own terms. This feels to me like a guy who was shocked how quickly he found himself outside looking in, and the little insecure voice inside of him started whining.

He was probably sitting at home bored as all hell and was like, eh why not run it back one more time, if he's physically capable no reason not to. When it's all you know for so long walking away isn't as easy as it seems sometimes.

According to the NFL Good Morning Football folks, he's been in Europe living it up for a while ... with his kids and supermodel wife. Boring indeed. lol

Nah, being home probably kept reminding him of his “second wife” Antonio Brown not being there in the house and that his Super Bowl is filled with Antonio/Satan’s taint.

There’s also the missed chance to humiliate San Francisco.

Tom Brady has many axes to grind. Todd Bowles might even be on a leash because it was his blitz call that guaranteed Brady going home.

He was in the stands at Old Trafford on Saturday to see Ronaldo break the all-time goal-scoring record.

The Glazers also own Man United. Coincidence? I think not.

For those curious, all the 37-year-old Ronaldo did was up a hat trick. 37-year-old outfield players are as numerous in the world's top soccer league as 44-year-old QBs are in the NFL so maybe Brady felt inspired.
